Waterspouts & Tornado Warnings In Los Angeles???

I'm listening to the news here in Hollywood and lo and behold they announced two waterspouts off the coast and issued a warning that they could turn into tornadoes!

WTF? It's like that movie this summer 'The Day After Tomorrow' or some shit.

It's been raining alot, broke october records for rainfall but waterspouts and tornadoes is not a happy camper picture!

do you leave LA around the fall/winter season every year? this is nothing new.

GonePhishing 10-27-2004 01:28 PM

Don't worry... Waterspouts are very week twisters and they almost never make it inland.

get your ass outside and take some pics..:winkwink:

Fuck that. I've been in Hollywood on and off for 6 years and never heard of some shit like this.

News just came on again from the national weather service that the same two waterspouts are off the coast of Malibu and if they roll onto land they could turn into tornadoes.

They've been spinning off the coast of Malibu for about an hour now.

Yeah, my wife works in Van Nuys (San Fernando Valley) and says the sky is green and its pouring rain. BTW, green skies are a forewarning of tornados

TaDoW 10-27-2004 01:33 PM

watersports in hollywood?? :helpme

GonePhishing 10-27-2004 01:34 PM

"They've been spinning off the coast of Malibu for about an hour now."

Is there a link to this story? Twisters usually don't last even close to that long, and waterspouts are usually even shorter and weaker. There is almost no chance at all those things would make it inland. If they have in fact been spinning that long, they should be damn near the end of their period.

We have had a couple unconfirmed tornadoes over the years . . . I remember one hit a few blocks from me back in the early 80's . . . we don't have many trailer parks out here, so not really a big deal

The rains have been very heave here over night in Mexico. but now they are drying up and the sun is shining.

I live a few blocks from the beach. I just walked down there and could not see any water sprouts or tornadoes. My dog took a dump and now I am back.

FilthyRob 10-27-2004 02:30 PM

Tornado's wouldn't surprise me.

OY 10-27-2004 02:40 PM

You guys sounds like girls!

I live on the beach front in Marina Del Rey (dead center of LA, just south of Santa Monica)

IT RAINED AND THUNDERED A LITTLE - YOU ARE ALL CHICKENS...

PS. Ok, so it rained a bit harder and the lightning did strike the tower just up the street. But so what! It does that all over the mid west every day!
