Legal question
 

Hey all,
I got an email from a content provider. He writes that some of the revsharers in my program are using his content on their gallery pages (free hosting accounts).
If i don´t make them stop he will sue me.

But he can´t sue me for this right? I mean,how can i keep track of what content my revsharers have on their gallery pages.
All the big guys like Maxcash and ARS must have thousands of revsharers that use stolen content on the pages that their banners are on!!

Sounds like horseshit to me ...

I think he is trying the age-old intimidation tactic ...

do you mean that you bought content from him and are letting your revshare people use it and they are the ones posting the galleries? If this is the case then he may have a point depending on how the license is.

But if you mean peopl bought content from him and are using it to promote your site then that's not your problem.

Kane: I simply mean that my revsharers have stolen content on the same pages that the banners to to my sites are on.
I´m not involved in his content in any other way.

then I don't see how he can come after you. I'd tell him to spend his time going after the people that post the stolen content not you.

Prodigy settled all that crap about being responsible for what other people do online years ago. What your affiliates do on their own in the promotion of your program is no more your fault than my rants on the GFY board are Lensman's fault.

I live in a state that allows recovery of triple claims if someone files a frivolous suit against you. Here I am waiting for a scammer like that and the fucking moron comes after you instead. Damn. Damn. Damn...

I do have legal content, if you read the thread you see that some of my affiliates don´t have that.

Is there something in your terms & conditions about they are not allowed to use illegal content?
If the content realy is illegal try pointing them (or become a reseller) to a cheap content provider, there are enough content cd's out there for about $150 ... if they can't affort that than i think it is safe to remove them from your program bacause they are not generating a lot of money for you.
