Some Guy lucky to be alive...Pic

I was getting on the freeway the other day and I see smoke, this rig was dragging this guy for about 200 feet.

I was one of the first to stop the traffic and the guy was so lucky, everything was crushed about a foot from his body. If he had his seat belt on he would be dead.
He was able to lay down to miss the wheels crushing him alive.

I was going to crush the window so he can get out and instead we had a small women crawl into his car and open the back seat of his car and pullled hiim out.

It was his lucky day...

Just thought I would share that would you.

Glad everyone got out of that okay, but damn that's some scary shit. What type of car is that? vw, acura?

Semi-Retired-Dave 10-27-2004 08:23 AM

It was a Honda Civic and it was on the 210
I just did what anyone else would of done.

He was just super lucky, can you imagine those huge wheels off that truck just scraping on your drivers side door and you know how much smoke they put out when they are locked up, that's scary.

i HAD A SIMLIAR HERO EXPERIENCE THE OTHER NIGHT

I rescued a kid getting held up by a "tweaker" on Encinitas Blvd- he was screaming help at the top of his lungs and I sprung into action-

I went to jump on the attacker and as I did 6 Sheriff's pulled up and assisted me.

The kid had a knife and was holding up a 19 yr old for $10.

Nice work Dave-
more people need to get invloved and be "guardian angels"

I know I always I appreciate getting helped out-
I have been in wrecks where people pulled me out o f the car and saved my life as well.

So I have a special place in my heart for peopl who "Do Good"

Son of Dole chief Murdock killed in L.A. auto crash

By Staff and Wire Services

David Howard Murdock II, son of the chairman of Westlake Village-based Dole Food Co., was killed early Saturday in a car crash, officials said.
Murdock, 36, of Los Angeles died when his sports car left the Santa Monica Freeway about 2:30 a.m. and crashed into some trees, California Highway Patrol Officer Shameil Coleman said.

A female passenger survived the crash.

Murdock's father, David Howard Murdock of Lake Sherwood, was included last year on the Forbes 400, which lists the world's richest people based on their aggregate net worth.

The elder Murdock was listed as No. 140, with a net worth of $1.5 billion.

The Murdock family issued the following statement: "On Oct. 23, 2004, the family of David H. Murdock Jr. experienced the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother.

"We are deeply saddened and would appreciate if the public and press understand our need for privacy during this difficult time."

The crash occurred on the eastbound side at Bundy Drive, according to the CHP. Murdock was driving a 2003 Ferrari at an unknown speed when he "failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway west of Centinela Avenue," according to a CHP statement.

The vehicle veered onto the right shoulder and continued down the embankment onto the eastbound I-10 Centinela Avenue on-ramp, where it struck the meter light on the south side of the on-ramp.

The car then went off the embankment just west of the Bundy Drive undercrossing, where "it struck a tree, causing fatal injuries to Mr. Murdock," according to the statement
