I want to visit the USA - any suggestions?
alright
heres what i wanna see while i stay there for about 2-3 weeks (spring time): 1. Some big city. I love the skycrapers. Wanna have some good nightlife, cool scenery. Well ... just those things we dont have here in Switzerland. 2. Something where not all the tourists go to. Something REAL american. Dunno, maybe the countryside? 3. Some place where you feel where the US citizen are coming from ... something with European touch |

Portland Oregon, good night life, and you only have to go a few miles to see some beautiful stuff. Very Liberal, but most everyone is vary nice and willing to help your find your way.

but i wanna see something different. Zurich is great for living quality .. a whole lot of rich people moved and still moving here. But its just very different to your cities. |
Im still looking for some REAL american feeling. What about touring the countryside? Do you US city guys ever visited the countryside ? :)

I also like Luzern and Lugano very much. Luzern for the lake/boats, fireworks and the casino. Lugano for the atmosphere. |

What time of year are you looking at?
That might make a lot of difference. I've never been to the northwest, but I hear great things. Anyway, I like chicago a lot. St. Patricks Day there is classic. A little hit or miss on nightlife, so make sure you get some good tips before you show up or you can easily end up somewhere dead. New York City is like it's own universe. It is great and can be whatever you want it to be. There is also San Francisco. It is also close to good scenery and a good city in general. :2 cents: |
I would recommend San Francisco for both city life, beautiful scenery, culture, buildings, golden gate bridge, and incredible forests, ocean, and mountains and country side all within driving distance. :2 cents:
