no it doesn't mkae you cut your ear off!!! Depending on which you buy it's either a little bit stronger or little bit weaker than everclear. Usually around 140-150 proof. There are a ton of places to buy it but if you are in the US it's going to cost you about $70-$140 to get it. Usually the shipping is just as much as the product. I've bought from THIS PLACE a few times and have been very happy with it. Just takes a few weeks to get here.

Yeah it tastes like Medicine, and its nasty as fuck. Very bitter.

If you mix some suger with it, it still sucks.

And if you puke it up, itll stain whatever green.

I drank a ton of it, never hallucinated.

You can buy Vincent Van Gogh Absinthe in the local liquor store ( Bottle King in Bloomfield NJ carriers it) and im sure they have it on the island too. The US version is not made from wormwood but a close cousin of it and takes alot to get a good trip. Try the stuff from Europe (Amsterdam) it really gives you a good high

correct!! and the US version is bogus, don't even bother! It just gets you REALLY drunk.. it's got just such a high alcohol content is all. It's a little bit different kind of drunk... kind of hard to explain... you are very clear minded but very warm and fuzzy. And as you come down it's nice... just goes away smooth!

The original stuff really makes for a fucked up evening.. it has some herb in it that acts as a medium strength halucinagen (sp)..

Last time my friends and I had a bottle, some of them decided to pick each other up and run headfirst into the wall.. But atleast they were fun to look at the next day..

its the wormwood that gives u the high,

its all over alberta and has been for a long time, im not 100% sure about other provinces,

always ask if the absinthe contains wormwood if it doesnt it is a fake.

the stuff taste like sambuca imo for the people that havent tried it,

I'm pretty sure that's where I bought the first bottle for my hubby. I got a small bottle, glass, spoon and some sugar cubes. It was only enough for about 2 drinks, but it was fun. Since thne he's bought dozens of bottles and had hooked up with some people here in Seattle who love it and have parties occasionally where they get together to share different kinds, etc.

Hubby has drank the most in one sitting out of the two of us (I sort of think it tastes a little gross). I think he had 8 of them at a party a few months ago. Still no green fairy. Just drunk. :)

It's a fun drunk though. Good energy and lots of brain activity. I can see why the artists liked it. But it's not like LSD or shrooms so don't expect crazy hallucinations.

It's a anniseed ( licorice ) taste with the strength varying ( Pernod is the strongest anniseed tasting ) but some are very mild.

You are supposed to drink it with sugar and water ( let ice cold water drip over a spoon with a sugar cube on it ) but SHOTS are great too )


Thujone content is limited to 10mg in the USA/Australia , thats enough to give you a nice high

Does anyone know what percentage it is? I looked at a bottle at the shop the other day and it had a sticker covering the real percentage saying 60% but the actual percentage was 70%. The strongest drink I found was some kind of rum I cant remember what type but it was 81%.
