What's the benefit of using a ftp program like cute verses the one built in

What's the benefit of using a ftp program like cute verses the one built in Windows XP?

It fine for simple uploading and downlodihg stuff to my site.

Am I missing something?

There are many reasons:
1) not all FTPDs (FTP servers) follow the exact same rules so this causes some FTP clients to break on them.
2) A single FTP client is generally faster
3) It has a more adjustable que for uploading large items and large quantities.

My tip would be this: Get yourself a copy of FlashFXP. This is a very inexpensive FTP client that has worked for me with any and every FTPD I connect to. It has many options, is fast, dependable, and scriptable for automation. And one feature I LOVE is being an FXP client means you can do a site move with ease. Ever have to change hosts? Download, reup, reset, etc. Pain in the ass. With FlashFXP you connect to the old FTP on the left side, connect to the new FTP on the right side, and transfer from the old to the new directly! Best money I ever spent buying a copy of this program.

http://www.flashfxp.com/ check it out and only $25
Perks when you buy a copy are:

- A registration key emailed to you.
- Your key will remove the shareware reminder.
- Lifetime FREE upgrades to FlashFXP, minor and major.
- Unlimited free Email support.
