Who had a smoking lounge in high school?
 

Anyone? It was great to hang out and smoke between classes in high school. I'll bet you some of the kids on this board won't believe that we had smoking areas in high schools!

I started to smoke when I was 12 years old. now I am 24

the smokers used to have smoke
breaks by "The Trees" in between
classes (orginal name, huh?! :1orglaugh )

We used to call it the pit because it was the downstairs area of the entrance. What is ironic is that most students graduated at age 16/17 (Quebec high school system) and by law you weren't allowed to buy cigarettes unless you were 18. But teachers and students would smoke there all the time. LOL

Anybody tried real drugs in high school?

You probably won't believe that when my older brother and sister were in junior high they had a smoking lounge.

That stuff stopped by the time I got there which was about 3-4 years later.

But you are correct...I'm 38 and it's a different world when we were kids than what these kids see now.

we never had a smoking lounge but we owned that school so we used to just chill out and smoke outside whenever we wanted.

Smoking isn't bad things, but when you are allways seeing 5-6 year old children smoking its not funny anymore. In my neiborhood there are those kids and allmuost every day they are asking people cigarettes.

I don't remember, I dropped out in grade 9.

We had a designated smoking area at our school.. Yeah it was great.. If you wanted to smoke, go out to use the restoom and hit up the smoke spot..

Ours was also called "The Pit" but it was an outside area and none of us were supposed to be smoking, of course. Legal smoking age was 13 but you could still buy cigarettes with a "note from parent" at any age.

A smoking lounge in school? We had one . . . OutSide! But even their the cops would get us :(

We had an outdoor smoking area that was pretty big. about 50 yds x 20 yards... a terrace type area, right by the lunch area. It was always packed, too. You had to get your parents to sign a form at the beginning of the year to be able to be there, but alot of kids forged that one right up.

for what it's worth, they used this High School in the movie 'Pump Up The Volume'. hehe

The bastards closed down the smoking room my freshman year. But at least the policy seemed to be to not notice that students were smoking as long as we didn't make a mess, so we didn't ever have to go far to sneak one in between classes.

I remember that.
When you walk in the bathroom you'd have to say "its ok" so no one would put their cigarettes out. Wow this really brings back memories.

Mine was in Texas... It was outdoors, and it was also called The Pit, I'm pretty sure. There was a lot of freedom... A lot of pot-smoking too. Occasionally a narc was planted there, but they were too obvious... I don't remember anyone ever getting caught.

I used to smoke weed with friends after school.

LOL, we did at the public schools where I lived. I went to private schools and didn't have one though.

You can tell how old we are when we start talking about schools allowing smoking and even giving students a place to do it :thumbsup

we had a smoking area, was outside down a hill out of site. But i couldn't go there, played football, would have gotten my ass busted.

lounge?? OMG, we were assigned a walkway across from the school or our cars - but mostly we did it in front at the entrance.

my school we had an inner court yard that we also could use if we wanted to talk to teachers... now that was a weird experience.

We had one, but our high school was split from 9/10th, to 11th/12th grade, at the time.

We were only allowed to smoke before school, during lunch, and after.

One of the few schools that allowed it in Bucks County.

we had the senior courtyard it was a big square cut out of the middle of the school where we could congrigate it was pretty cool we could smoke and just hang out in between class they had it all done up with a fountain and flowers and crap it was a little odd but still pretty cool
