Who can tell me about laptops?
I'm in the market for a new notebook and there's one thing I'm confused about.
Is the Pentium-M (between 1.5 and 2.0ghz) better/faster than Pentium 4 (between 3.0 and 3.4ghz) ???? I use my notebook primarily for gaming. |
buddy just got a sony, paid about $1.8k for it
i have never seen such a clear, vivid screen in my life! That shit is more clear than my tv!! unreal video |
while I dont see the point in getting a laptop for gaming, definately don't go with the centrino if thats your goal.
centrino's run at lower clock speeds but perform as if they were faster much like AMD processors, but in this case, they run more efficiently for applications such as long batterylife, photoshop and other non-graphic intensive applications. also, you dont get the high-end graphic chips with centrino. if ur set on getting a laptop for gaming get one that uses the Pentium 4 desktop proc and a radeon mobility chipset for video. ur battery life will be shite, but your machine will play your games. |
i prefer centrino, if you want games get a playstation instead
1.5 mobile is powerful enough to do everything. It's not like you're gonna batch encode videos.... |
the pent m's run slower have perform less but run cooler and give your laptop longer battery life.
I just got a hp today with athlon 64 and 256mb nvidia video card. The fucker is fast and doesn't have any problems running games. |
