Two Tips I've Learned To Help You Quit Smoking! Time Tested Techniques.

I quit smoking cigs over 3 months ago and these 2 tips can be the difference in whether you stay quit or go back to smoking. It's tough and took a lot but now I can honestly say that I'm 100% smoke free and feeling great! :thumbsup

Tip #1:
That Niccorette gum is pretty much a waste if you ask me unless you decide to use it strategically. They say to use a piece when you get the urge to smoke and I say BAH! Here's what I did and it really does work. I took a piece of Niccorette gum and cut it into 1/4 size pieces. With the gum they recommend that you chew it a few times and then tuck it away between your lip and teeth when you get a craving. That's gay! I took the 1/4 piece and mixed it with regular sugar free gum and chewed away. That took care of two problems at once; my oral fixation with smoking and my craving for nicotine. I didn't have to grab a piece of gum every time craved a cig but instead just chewed away and I didn't even think about it.

Tip #2:
They sell the nicotine patches in 3 steps that offer different amounts of nicotine in milligrams. Each step costs the same so you can save a lot of money if you simply cut your patches in half. I took the step 1 patches and used them for a week. Then I cut them in half and used that for 2 weeks. On my 3rd week I cut it into ¼ size and wore that for 3 weeks. I pretty much weaned myself off of nicotine with 2 boxes of patches instead of 3 different boxes (3 steps). You can?t just use step 1 for 3 weeks and then expect to quit?it?s not going to happen. Your body is still dependant on nicotine at that point and you?ll just relapse and start smoking again.

I hope this information is helpful because when I think about how bad I felt when I smoked and didn?t even know it I feel obligated to help people quit smoking. I don?t have anything against smokers; I was one for 16 years. I just like to help people and let them know that it is a breakable habit. If you can quit smoking then you can pretty much do anything! :thumbsup

Good Luck!

Car battery, alligator clips, crotchless underwear, momentary
switch in your girlfriend's hand = faster quiting time. :Graucho

Quit over 4 months ago, and here's how I did it:

Don't smoke ever again.

It's simple, really, once you realize what you're doing. Just cut yourself off when you're thinking about lighting one up, and be entirely confident in your decision.

I quit about 5 months ago using the gum - was chewing like mad all the time - it really helps. My advice - DO NOT go out for at least 3 weeks. If you go out and have a drink, you're screwed, you're gonna light up.

It takes a lot of patience and self-rehabilitation to quit smoking. It's a tough job to make.
