Blogoscoped: AdWords Germany Without Adult Content

Google announced that it will make adult-oriented messages on its AdWords advertising system verboten for Germans. The policy is surprising less for its eschewing of the lucrative adult business, and more for the fact that Google came out explicitly with a written guideline.

An English translation: "Beginning November 2004, German users (indicated by IP address) will be disallowed from including in ads any pornography, eroticism or other explicitly sexual content..."

The article mentions Germany only..

And it's nothing official. It's from a blog!

Come on.. Next time you want to troll with some news, at least take the time to create an appropriate title for the thread.

No, you must send your ID before accessing porn on German Xxx sites. I never saw you on any polish adult board, do you use the same nick everywhere?

Pornography laws in Germany are very strict in connection with the Net. They are just protecting themself.

Under German law, if a google adwords link (because it is reviewed by google) gets you access to unprotected pornography then google can be sued over it.

"gets you access" does not mean the first page that google links to has pornography, but it means links quite a few levels (how many is not really deceided yet) deep can get you in trouble too. With this move google can quite well protect against this.
