Mandy, how did you get your start in modeling and webmastering?

Well I was working a super shitty job as an administrative assistant. I had a crazy boss who said that if I wasn't her friend, she'd have to fire me. I saw an ad online about doing live cam shows. I tried it out and I loved it! Soon I was making more doing cam for 8-10 hrs a week than I was at my 40+ hr a week job. So I quit and started working for myself. (Jan 2000)
I started my website in June 2000 to promote my cam shows. The site was free until August 2001 when I decided it would be a good idea to go pay. The rest, they say, is history.

What are your interests outside of business?

Mandy, what one piece of advice would you offer any lady looking to break into the industry?

I enjoy singing and dancing.
I also enjoy watching movies. Tony and I bought the book 1000 movies you should see before you die...I think that's the name of it. So we're going thru the book and checking them off as we go.
It's pretty interesting.
I enjoy going for long drives on a nice fall day. So needless to say where I'd like to be right now. :)

:) How does your business affect your personal life? I would imagine that you're often recognized by your fans. Are you a local celebrity of sorts?

Be prepared:
to work hard.
to not make $10,000 the first month you're up and running.
give your customers something new and top quality.

Don't spend any of the money you see for the first year, unless it's to purchase things/services for your business.
Be patient.
Be yourself...your customers want to know the real you. They don't expect you to be a sexpot 24/7.

I definitely get recognized by fans/members of my site, when we attend local BBW dances. It's great when they come up and introduce themselves to me, because I can finally put a face to the chat nick.
I haven't gotten to the point yet, where people on the street recognize me.
But I'm working on it. :)

Does your family support you in this? Shun you?

That's something every adult industry worker has to deal with, one way or another.

My family knows what I do and they have been very cool.
When I shot my layout for a magazine last week, my sister told my mom. My mom wrote me and said Congrats! I hope you get the cover!
Now if that isn't support, I don't know what is!

It's always good to have family support. That's hard to get in our business.

What has been your best year in the adult industry, and why? And do you have any other projects or sites that you'd like to talk about?

Even though this was the first year I experience a summer slowdown, this has been the best year. I reached my goal for the year in March.
As far as other projects, I have a very small TGP that I put up basically for BBW fans.
I'm always looking to get involved with other BBW sites. I feel I have a lot of knowledge that I could offer to a company or individual.
Ok that totally sounded like a plug for my services. I didn't mean for it to sound that way. lol

Do you have any traffic tips for women who run their own sites? :) There are so many ways of getting traffic... What's the best way?

Honestly, I can't say I do. The reason being, I'm in a very small niche. I do BBW well. Getting traffic for other niches, I don't know about.

How did you meet your husband? (Hi, Tony!) What role does he play regarding your site, or does he have his own projects?

Tony does all my photography, videography, video editing, photoshop, and creative stuff. He's a super smart guy with tons of great ideas.
We're a real team.

Well, this has taken up a good bit of your time. I'll make this the last question.

Where are you going with your site and career? Will you go into the mature niche eventually (many years from now!), manage sites for other girls or maybe change careers?

Well I'd like to think I have quite a few years before I'll hit the mature market.
Luckily for me though, BBW and mature markets can go together.
I can go much farther with my site than where it is now...and I plan to do so.
I also plan on launching other sites. I like to have multiple eggs in my basket. :)
