FACT: Americans have no choice in the presidential elections.

Its either Bush or Kerry, and neither of them are "great" men or leaders. Not much choice in such a "free" country. Two party system and the fact that a third party guy cant even get on the ballot in a lot of states will be this country's downfall in the long run.

John Kerry will say whatever the polls tell him that you want to hear. And you will all suck it up without doing any research on what the guy has actually done while a senator for 20 years.

suckers.......:2 cents:

At least he isn't trying to have all of our kids killed for his own personal gain. Bush has a family embarrassment and has to have that taken care of and he's using OUR kids to do this.... his Daddy was threatened and beaten down, and Bush can't stand it, so he worked half his life to get in a place where he could have the power to go and deal with this... only HE isn't doing his own dirty work, he's sending OUR kids to do it for him!!!!! Now please tell me how WE are benefiting from HIS being in power?

Kerry has always been for the war and still is. To say that "at least Kerry wouldn't have sent us to war," is just ignorant.

Maybe part true, but a very narrow view.

We need the oil and a presence in the Middle East. We had that no fly BS going on for years. It could not continue that way. Iraq needed to be a sovereign nation. As for timing; if you remember summer was approaching fast. Waiting would have been harder on the troops.

Mistakes, hell yes!! We needed that northern front. We needed more troops. We needed more equipment.

Kerry would have sat with his thumb up his ass while sucking up to our ?friends? the French?.

Alltopnotch 10-25-2004 12:10 PM

he has a point...choosing from basically 2 guys isn't much of a choice...i guess it's always gonna be like that though...

Manowar 10-25-2004 12:11 PM

Hope not. We need a thrid party bad. If the media would give more attention to the Libertarians for example, maybe things would change.

Why don't you go research Bush's inconsistencies and come back and praise his ass.

And since you mention what Kerry has done for the past 20 years, what exactly has Bush done? The man is a puppet, get that through your head.

maybe if the libertarians had a little more money they could make a little more noise and get noticed.

Until 3rd parties start playing in the same league as republicans and Democrats they'll never get more then 1% of the vote. 3rd party candidates are bush league, eccentric billionaires (ross perot) who have nothing better to do then run for president.

Tam 10-25-2004 12:21 PM

I am not against War in the right circumstances, so don't get me wrong on that aspect of it. But what I AM against is the way in which Bush went about it. He went at it like a bully would..... go crashing in and not give one bit of thought to anything but what HE wants to happen. I am all for this IF it was done right and it wasn't. Kerry even stated this, he was for it, IF it was done right, and it wasn't.

I completely agree with Saddam having to go and several of the other issues, BUT I don't think he went into this with much thought or preperation and it is screaming this everyday when we turn on the TV and see MORE have died..... he alienated anyone and everyone that showed any sort of rationalization to this and would have helped had he gone about it rationally.... but did he? HELL NO!!!! HE wants to control everything and everyone. He's every bit as much of a Terrorist as the terrorists themselves.

The thing here that is really eating me about this all, is that he had a personal vendeta and nothing or no one was going to stop him.... THAT is what I am against and that's where I think he fucked up bigtime. You can't solve ANYTHING going at it like that......

As in Bush doesn't?!? The Bush campaign has one message:
Re-elect us or you will DIE! (Speaking of stupid commercials..the one with wolves in the snowy forest gathering to attack something is one of the dumbest commercials I've seen!)

There should be a $10 million dollar limit in campaigning for president, adjusted for inflation.

I am convinced that Americans don't have the capability of discussing what's wrong with the 2-party system. Sad really.
These threads always get fucked like that.

Well those are the cards we were dealt, so they are the ones we have to play... not a lot we can do about it. Ok, maybe someone can, but I am sure as hell not the one that can. We DO need more choices, but chances of that happening are pretty much slim and hopeless..... :(

Correction: "most Americans"

I take exception to that rule, as I both discuss and vote 3rd party.

What you can DO is to STOP voting for either major party and vote for who you actually like, and try to convince those around you to do the same. The two party system spreads scare propoganda to keep us from voting 3rd party and we fuckin eat it up like a bunch of obedient sheep. Stop being a sheep and be a fuckin rebel! No one is "stealing" my vote, because they never had it in the first place and neither of them was going to get it anyway. So fuck all you people who are about to tell me "you're only giving your vote to the other guy." You people use flawed logic and you're scared little sheep. Say "Baaaaaaa".

Well, If we would have sat with our thumbs up our asses then the inspectors would have concluded that there ARE NO WMD's thus Saddam IS NOT a threat and over 1000 american lives and countless Iraqi lives wouldnt have been sacraficed all in the name of what? Bush? OIL? Freedom? WMD's? 911? What? you tell me...

It's a good idea, but the application itself is flawed.

The rise of the 3rd party has happened before in American politics, but what happens is that the voting body that would normally vote, lets say all Democrat, now is voting 50% Democrat and 50% Green Party - they are both pretty similar though.

But the Republicans stay united with their 100%

Every election that year would be won by Republicans because the split would be 50% Repub, 25% Dem, 25% Green.

So the next year, the Greens and the Dems would pool their resources in order to get some like-minded people in office, and suddenly you are back to the two party system.

Look up the Bull Moose Party for a great example of why 3rd parties would never fly in this country under the current voting system.
