how long from the time you eat some food til you would know you have food poisoning?

here's the history of the food i just scarfed down - Saturday I picked up some Popeye's chicken, been on a chicken bender lately. Got home, made mistake, picked up phone when it rang - long conversation/drama, made me lose my appetite. Chicken sat on the counter for about 5 hours. Put it in fridge. Sunday I pulled it out at about 2 pm, let it warm up to room termperature, football game was so disgusting again I lost my appetite. forgot to put chicken back in fridge until i went to bed like at 4 in the morning. Today my appetite came back and I ate the chicken about an hour ago.

You cooked it the first day. So you'll be fine.

u should be fine, if not, you'll know in 1-2 days... have gotten food poisoning a fwe times, not fun :(

Give it about 8 to 10 hours. I got it a few times and I always had this really thursty feeling only later to find out that it was my body asking for liquid to vomit up that damn del taco.

Having chicken sit out like that really isn't that good. Exspecally fastfood chicken. :(

You'll know when you have it though. You'll be sitting on the toilet with you face in a bucket. If that happens drink gingeral or apple juice. That always settles me for a few hours.

you should be ok, if you left it out that long before it was cooked it would be another story.

usually within 24 hrs, u really shoulda threw out the chicken

yeah i know chicken is bad when u leave it out uncooked. i was just wondering how long cooked chicken can sit around at room temperature before it can start going bad.
