Should I pay the guy $175 for designing this logo? Do you like it?

if you ran an 175 usd contest on here, im sure you would get a better design. but on the black it does look way better

He's a friend of mine that needed the cash so I've been working with him but at this point, I may just say F-it and cut my losses. :(

How much effort did you put into giving them ideas on what you want? they cant read your mind - and saying, "work on creating something then I'll pay" is shitty motivation to do work for anyone

if you enforce people making it 100% vector, then i'll throw down $75, you throw down $75, and we'll have a lil' contest on here for $150.00.

the stem for the glass is wayyy to fat. If he made that a bit thinner/elegant, I think it would go a long way in making that logo a bit more presentable. Also, Tampa Bay is 2 words :)

Don't think it was fair to show the work not as presented in the first place. Looks better on black. While it doesn't do it for me or anyone else here, a mainstream agency would of charged you more for the same thing or worse. Who knows, it might work on the targeted market?

Think he should get something for the effort though. You made the deal. Was it an all or nothing or something else?

That's not how I presented it to him. He begged me for the opportunity so I let him give it a shot. He's not known to be a good designer so I wasn't going to commit but give him the chance to make a quick buck. :2 cents:

just cleaned up the same idea -- all vector so colors and fonts are easy to change out and resizing (without losing quality) is not an issue...

That way you can still keep your friends design concept it's just cleaned up a little......
