Left Friday night to head to Reno with a couple friends to do some Democratic canvassing. They picked up the hotel room at the casino we stayed at. We went door to door with the League of Pissed Off Voters, BEGGING people to get to the polls ASAP. We even had a fleet of vans ready to drive them if needed.

There were over a thousand of us that gathered to do this, and we all had territories and a huge list to cover. We knew their names, their age, and their previous party voting record. After about 8 hours of handing out voter guides, I think we really got some work done.

I announced to the group that I'm with the adult entertainment industry, and I'm here to fight for my fucking rights. It caught them by surprize, but after a few pornographer jokes they kinda warmed up to it. I also did an interview with the Bay Guardian and discussed how the new 2257 legislation is affecting this industry, and how it's designed to take us down completely under the pretense of "child porn". They were unaware of this, apparently.

Have any of you done anything similar? I'm driving a van full of us down to Vegas this Friday to do the same thing.

For all the non-surfers on GFY, you really should care about this. I'm amazed this only has 3 views after 20 minutes.

We did it for a few hours yesterday. I feel a little bit like we're preaching to the choir in our very liberal part of Washington, but it was good to get out and make sure everyone is voting and that they know how important it is.

I heard one of the guys on Kerry's campaign (sorry I can't remember his name) on Meet the Press yesterday. He said that we have to act like we're 20 points down in the polls and make sure everyone gets out to vote and that every vote is counted. I couldn't agree more. I've already voted absentee (mailing my ballot today).
