I don't agree with that article. If you can't make any decent money, then it's something wrong with your strategy. Of course there is more competition, but don't forget there are ~500 million internet users worldwide (June/July 2001 statistics). Expect a lot of newcomers from EU and Asia in next two years.

Interesting article, I read it the other day.

I think it's only half right, many of the older guys that were making money despite themselves are feeling hard times. The easy shortcuts and poor disclosure/policies are no longer tolerated, so those guys have to actually do legit business.

Considering the economy and the mainstream .com downfall, the adult .com biz has held it's own pretty well.

I have to agree with Lensman. There are some good points made, with a lot of truth in that article. A lot of guys who made decent money a couple years ago with very little effort are having a very hard time adapting to a more competitive environment. It's a more stagnant environment, and to gain share now, the traffic has to come from a competitor. Where as before, in a repidly expanding market place, new traffic had to be constantly absorbed.

You can tell though, by folks who have their game on, that the business possibilities are still very open. And until Connie Chung gets the in-depth interview with 12Clicks, the real world is never going to be able to tell you what's going on in this business better than you can from the inside.

God, if it ever took me more than six weeks to make that much I think I'd quit. Too much good opportunity online though, so I'd say that the above statement is true only due to the vast amount of newbs that are just trying to get started.

And there is your problem right there. A lot of people give a lot of shitty advice about how to succeed in this business, but one fact that is indesputeable is you get out what you put in. You need to make this a priority. It's the old "shit or get off the pot" theorem at work. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/biggrin.gif

And therein lies your greatest weapon to success -- the desire and determination to succeed. You've got the commitment, now you just need to put the rest of your life on hold for about 2 years and you'll be retired from any "day job" you may have now.

Trust me, working from home be da bomb.
