Scottie Gallin, RIP
 

A towering Pompano Beach man who supported his teenage son by working as a bodyguard to the stars died this weekend in a plane crash in the Bahamas that also killed R&B singer Aaliyah and seven other people.
Scott Alan Gallin, a sometime actor, sometime investigator who stood 6-foot-8 and weighed almost 300 pounds, was the only South Floridian aboard the troubled flight. Gallin died after being pulled from the shattered wreckage of the twin-engine plane moments after it took off from Marsh Harbour International Airport on Abaco Island on Saturday.
?Scotty was not just a bodyguard; he was a good father and good human being. He was a gentle giant,? said former Broward County Sheriff Nick Navarro, whose private security firm employed him occasionally.

For those of you who might remember Scottie, he was the tall, shaved head dude who acompanied JoeE back in 1999.
Scottie was on Aaliyah's plane.
