xtac questions
 

I am very hesitant using xtac.com as my free host for several reasons.

1. The header and footer issue. Even with no ads except their own, the footer is HUGE and intrusive. It makes me wonder how large the header will get once they use ads.

2. Will any TGP sites list xtac? By the looks of the header and footer, I would guess the answer to be no.

3. I visted a few sites that were listed, and they were very slow, even using DSL.

Anyone care to reply?

can you specify which gallery you saw that was listed? maybe the webmaster posted thumbs that were 60k each or something high.

i'm looking thru other galleries right now and it seems fine.

headers/footers still being worked on.. they going to be cut down to 75 pixel in height or less. but nothing more than 75pixel :P

lol wizzo. we got registered for an account at cashtour already but havent put them in use yet. still experimenting things.

Why people don't just stick with LightningFree is beyond me.

If our site is slow, i'd suggest you traceroute to us and find the bottleneck to not be us. We've built a gigabit network within Exodus' datacenter and each web server is plugged in via FastE to our gigabit backplane. I'd be interested to get your DSL ip to see exactly what the slowdown is - because i know it can't be us.

Our servers are Dual PIII 1000Mhz /w 2 gigs of ram... and are far, far, far from being overloaded.
275 processes: 1 running, 274 sleeping
CPU states: % user, % nice, % system, % interrupt, % idle
Mem: 107M Active, 1368M Inact, 204M Wired, 816K Cache, 214M Buf, 331M Free

With regards to our headers/footers... September 1st they will be completely redone, we're not going to be spamming our webmaster sites... our goal is to make this the best freehost out there... If you dont likee our header, or our footer is too big, email us... We will make it smaller, less intrusive, etc. We're here to please you and work with you, not fuck you over.

Our FTP is fast and uninhibited. Upload is however restricted to 100k files, so if you attempt to upload a file greater than 100k it will abort the transfer and most likely disconnect you from ftp.

Also, with the remarks to "trusting" a freehost. We're here to build a large community of adult sites / galleries, We're not looking to get rich by deleting sites for nor eason , directing their traffic to our 404 pages, etc.... I mean after-all if that was the case I would allow the server to accept file's bigger than 100k so I could just delete them in a week to get 404 traffic, but we dont do that... instead the FTP stops transferring at 100k.


Any concerns, please let me know!

Guys, I didn't mean to come across as ungrateful. I just had some question/opinions that I wanted to state. I will give it a go, but will remain loyal to Lightning Free.
