Benefits / Drawbacks of Employees

Thinking of hiring a girl I know in North Carolina. She has a degree in Psychology, and is a sharp cookie. I've known her for years, met her on Friendster. I've been contemplating hiring someone to answer my phone, because I get about 30 calls a day from people interested in modeling for me. That kinda stresses me out, and I can't really handle the call volume while I'm tring to focus on other things.

I can train her to do pretty much whatever I need, but the tasks I have on the top of my list are qualifying these phone calls, and building / submitting galleries.

Anything I should think about in particular before I bring her on full time, and move her out here?

how are her tits?

Its a good idea, basically when your costs go up, you are prompted to step up your game and take your biz to the next level.:2 cents:

Yeah I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to have to work harder, to make the same amount of money, or what. Anyone have the answer? Theory is always different from reality. I know I gotta hit the ground running with her to make it profitable right off the bat.

make her sign a sexual harassment waiver... in the adult biz, its something you should have, this way you cover your ass if something 'offends' them :thumbsup

Yeah, years. Originally I thought she was from somewhere in California, or else I never would have messaged her. Then I discovered she was a student at Pembroke University.

It just sounds strange saying you've known someone for years and you met them on Friendster since Friendster has only existed for 2 years.

EscortBiz 10-21-2004 01:11 AM

if this was a guy same talents and everything would you hire him? If the answer is no then dont do it

to many people hire using their cock and balls, seen disasters daily

jade_dragon 10-21-2004 01:22 AM

Wow how much are you paying her if she is going to move from where she is to take this job. 30 calls a day could be handled with an outside answering service with a mailbox where you could listen to them at your leisure, much cheaper than hiring on a girl.

One employee will never move as fast as you want them to unless they REALLY care about the job, multiples will increase your efficiency but should be done only when it looks like you working on it alone is limiting your progress. If she makes you more efficient the bottom line will show it, you will be able to pay her and still make the same or more money, if you are taking a hit paying her then you are paying for convenience.

I'm interested in dating her, and vice versa. You're right, I'm thinking with my dick in a way. But she's expressed an interest in working for me. I know I can train her, and I know she's a hard worker. Degrees don't come easy.

$15 an hour will be the starting pay rate.

2XY 10-21-2004 01:38 AM

Does she have any work references that you can check out? How do you know that she is a hard worker? You can't base a person's work ethics on just the fact that she completed her degree. I know some people who finish up their degrees but when it comes down to actual work responsibilities...they completely lack it. I would check her references if possible before taking on the huge responsibility of moving her out.

Those are some good points. I'll have to give that some thought before I make any offers.

So lets say you move her out and the dating thing doesn't work out with her. Do you have a viable exit strategy?

Immediate termination. :Graucho

Oh wait, I'm just kidding. She'd be my employee, regardless of our personal relationship.

being in oaktown is great for finding talented internet-ready professionals. the bay area is ripe with over-qualified labor. craigs list would work well, maybe some college interns, and dot-bomb refugees.

beemk 10-21-2004 02:23 AM

if shes an internet buddy i wouldnt hire her, you cant know her as good as you think you do. i would recommend hiring a local girl you dont know. you can probably get someone to work cheaper than her and it will be easier to watch over her.

Arousal Design 10-21-2004 03:18 AM

You're making a big, big, big, big, big, big, big mistake.

Rarely mix business and pleasure, especially off the bat without knowing her that well in person yet.

The Other Steve 10-21-2004 03:23 AM

From a strictly business point of view one question you need to ask yourself is:

Will she free up enough of your time so that you can produce more to pay for her wages and the hidden employment costs and increase your bottom line at the same time.

You shouldn't only think of those figures as they might be in a couple of weeks but also as they might be six or eight months down the track.

At the same time never fuck or flirt with the hired help - productivity goes down and you end up making less money.

Yeah, you're right about that. I bet I'd have my pick of some awesomely qualified labor here. Good point.

How much talent do you think $30k a year can get me??
