Kel 10-20-2004 02:38 PM

Such a highly detailed photo.

Great post, Unique.

gornyhuy 10-20-2004 02:38 PM

Makes you wonder what kind of imagery they don't show us.... I like to look straight up and flip 'em the bird now and then.

Sosa 10-20-2004 02:41 PM

damn that pic is good.

RuthXtremePay 10-20-2004 02:42 PM

Wow.. doesn't that make you feel small...

Powerful image

Sure.. but would your gmail account reject a file that size?

Tricksy 10-20-2004 02:48 PM

good photo...but makes me really sad!

Gheenz 10-20-2004 02:49 PM

Cool picture, the detail is pretty amazing. I'd love to see the rest of the pictures, too. I'm sure there are many hidden away that will never make the public circuit.

eroswebmaster 10-20-2004 02:50 PM

it's amazing at how so much concrete and steel seemed to just evaporate.

Sure there was tons of debris...but you would have thought it would have looked like so much more.

Disturbing comparison. But it was like when we had my mother cremated because she wanted her ashes spread over her favorite fishing spot...when I opened the urn it was amazing to see how little there is left of us.

Puts things into perspective.

I was there this summer looks like a big construction site, they are building something else now

KittyLix 10-20-2004 03:06 PM

:(

TaDoW 10-20-2004 03:12 PM

pretty cool stuff... I was walking right there last september. Is that battery park in the upper right?

eroswebmaster - I think that pic was taken several days after the building fell, so much of the debris had already been removed, but there's still a ton of stuff there!

P.S.: this pic was posted in oct. of '01 too .. but it was that 14 mb file size, so you could probably find it if you dug back through the archives

xclusive 10-20-2004 03:16 PM

Thanks for the pic man and lets vote Kerry/Edwards so we are not doomed to repeat this fate...

infectd 10-20-2004 03:19 PM

I like that alot.

CanRX 10-20-2004 03:30 PM

I hate to take away from the seriousness of the tragedy, but did anyone else notice the harbor there? Can you imagine how pimped it would be to have a boat or a Yacht in downtown NY? I need money like that.

Goose 10-20-2004 03:34 PM

wow, I love pictures like that. so much to discover :)

I'm not even responding to this idiotic remark. Not even the crowd who you're preaching to, dare complement you on that one buddy :thumbsup

uchase/webpry 10-20-2004 03:45 PM

... this ain't no satteliite photo, the photo was taken from a plane, probably 3-5km high. it's pretty easy to tell: when you look at the walls of the buildings, from 150km above you will never get so much detail of buidling's walls.

lloyd 10-20-2004 03:49 PM

looks more like its from a helicopter than a satellite, great photo nonetheless..

You are totally wrong. These are satellite photos taken by commercial satellites. I'm sure the government photos have even greater detail. Its a well known fact that satellite imagery is detailed enough to discern men from women in photos. I have a photo taken from a commercial satellite imagery website that is pre 9/11. And yes you should put on your tinfoil hats.

he/she is 100% moron..... bad bad bad

got real winners on GFY

UniqueMovies 10-20-2004 04:23 PM

nice find.. now I can compare them.. :thumbsup

lloyd 10-20-2004 04:26 PM

titan, the way the buildings appear to curve in the first one mean a wide angle lense.

if it were from space the perspective couldnt capture the inside faces of buildings on either side of the center of the photo.

wedouglas 10-20-2004 04:33 PM

yeah i got one that is so high resolution that my comp barely manages it...

I am complimenting him on that remark. As someone who can see their home just to the left of the hole in the photo, I have a different view of things than you. Maybe go read the 9-11 report, and then you can see why we need to get rid of the current administration.

The CIA report on 9-11 has been put on hold until after the election, because it is so critical of what the current administration didn't do.

So a vote for Bush, is the wrong fucking vote, if you want to protect the good ol' usa.

Personally, I want someone who has had bullets whissing past their head, rather than someone who was hiding in the national guard.

media 10-20-2004 05:15 PM

thats nothing.. I saw a print at kinkos a guy brought in.. it was the RAW version of a satelite image.. you could make out details of the people on the ground.. it was intense..

The person maed a 4x6 poster print of it to hang up...

I asked for a copy, but it would have violated copyright they said... fuckers..

lol

I find it odd how people blame the current administration for what happened on 9/11 is a bit out of line. If you read the 9/11 report you might have noticed that planning for 9/11 started long before the current administration was in office, and befor the current administration had even thought of running.

How long has Kerry been in the Senate? And why he didn't he do something to stop cutting the buget of the CIA after the coldwar ended?

9/11 would have happened no matter which administration was in office.

You think so do you:
Funny how fast they flu Bin Laden's family out.
Straight how Bush Blocked the investagations as to why 911 happened.
And the list goes on.
I think MM sumed it up pretty well. I remember seeing all that shit on our news but of course you guys are so censored that you would not have seened it.

Better read Richard Clarke's book. Here is a guy that worked for 4 presidents in basically the same capacaty, counter-terrorism. He was told by Asshat, not to bother him anymore about Bin Laden. It's in the 9-11 report too. Bush comes to him on the 12th and says make it stick on Iraq.

I don't completely blame Bush, but Clinton was trying everything in his power to get Bin Laden. He probably would have except the fucking republicans were flogging him about Monica and he couldn't go into Afghanistan, because they would have said he was trying to take attention away from his impeachment hearings.

Bush was to fucking busy taking vacations to get anything done. If they would have just listened to Clark, maybe none of it would have happened.

Just look at right now. If things are as serious as they say they are, why the fuck is he out stumping to get re-elected. There must be something he can be doing to fight the war on terror, right?

I haven't read this book, but I'll pick it up the next time I hit a book store.

I'm not saying Bush isn't to blame; Bush is clearly to blame for a lot of things. But it's funny how the Bush camp is saying talking about Kerry's worst most moments, and Kerry's crew is talking about the bad decisions Bush made.

Kerry's supporters are blaming Bush for 9/11, but Bush had only bene in the White House for nine months at that time. What did Kerry do about terrorism prior to 9/11 while he was in the Senate?

Actually the latest satellite to be put into space can read the side of a pack of cigarette's.

That 9 months argument doesn't fly with me. If you can't figure shit out in 9 months time, you shouldn't be president. You can make a fucking kid in that amount of time.
If his administration wasn't so fucking arogant, and maybe listen to people who had been studying this shit for years, he might have noticed something was brewing.

You should pick up Clarks book. It's called Against All Enemies.

He basically quit because Bush admin wasn't paying enough attention to Al Qaeda. Worked for 3 presidents before with no problem. 2 republicans and 1 dem I might add.
In a nutshell he says that Bush isn't stupid, just really simple. Only sees black and white, and not the midtones. Now that is fucking scary, because there are few things that are black and white in this world. The lone exception is the black and white cookie of course, a New York tradition.

I think RocHard is right on this one.

9/11 was going to happen no matter who was in office.

The fact is that previous administrations had the opportunity to take out Bin Ladden and Saddam and none of them did. We left ourselves wide open on that one.

Those are awsome photos, and anyone who has ever read the book Patriot Games (or seen the movie) can tell you that sattelites can determine the bra size of a woman from outerspace.....
