Adorable puppy needs good home

So I'm driving home from Wal Mart (shut up), and this car in the parking lot seems to be going super fast for some reason. The back passenger door opens and three puppies are THROWN out. Mind you, the car is moving pretty fast, and as soon as the puppies were out of the car, it sped out of the parking lot like the driver's head was on fire and his ass was catching. :feels-hot

Two other people and I stopped, (one guy caught the make and model and partial plate number and called the cops), and we each took a pup, making very sure that they were all okay. Lucky for them, none of them sustained any injuries, but they were all terrified.

What is wierd, though, (this isn't wierd in the south, sadly), is that all three puppies are well-fed and obviously cared-for. They were muddy as hell, but other than that, were very sweet tempered and loving.

To the best of my knowledge, this little guy looks to be golden retriever, 10-12 weeks old, very alert and loves attention, curious, and QUICK to learn. He can already fetch a knotted sock. (If he's not pure goldie, he's at least half.)

I want to keep him so bad it's driving me bonkers, but I already have two dogs and can't afford a third. So if anyone in the middle Tennessee - Atlanta areas wants a sweet little guy, please let me know. Pics will be posted ASAP.

Rinaldo 10-20-2004 01:13 PM

I want a kitten

Tera 10-20-2004 01:15 PM

That is so sad! Thank goodness they were all okay, and that people were there to care for them. I am sure you will find him a good home!

iamkathi 10-20-2004 01:16 PM

If you can't find them good homes here on GFY, contact your local newpaper or TV station. If it is a slow news day you may get some coverage and people that are interested.

My :2 cents:

PerfectionGirls 10-20-2004 01:16 PM

God that makes me sick that someone would do that. I would take one in a second, but I already have two dogs. I raised Goldens for 15 years. They are awesome dogs, but they are a ton of work as pupples. Also, they stay puppies until they are 2 years old, then settle in quite nicely.

Best of luck finding homes for them.

If you cant, there are a ton of Golden Retreiver rescuses that will come pick them up and find them homes. Most of these rescues are awesome and have families waiting in line for Goldens. They are also screened way harder then a local animal shelter would. Check online or call your local animal shelter for a number.

I wish that I could but we have 2 dogs and a Parrott.

And it is alread hard to travel.

Bryan Havoc 10-20-2004 01:19 PM

That's so sad, but I'm glad the puppies are ok.
i just saved a tick covered kitten from a busy road about a month ago, and if I didn't have two cats I'd love to help you out. I love golden retrievers.

Jackass rednecks who don't want them anymore or who are trying to get back at someone else through the abuse of their pets.:feels-hot :feels-hot :feels-hot

Gynecologist 10-20-2004 01:31 PM

This is why we need selective breeding of humans.

Thanks for being a hero and saving these pups.

BitterPen 10-20-2004 01:32 PM

Hey... I would soooo take him in a heartbeat, but I don't think we have the room. :( You've got my number!

Fucking idiots, man. I can't believe they would do that!!! Of course, I've seen the same shit happen just a few miles down the road... :BangBang:

sickkittens 10-20-2004 01:34 PM

What's strange is that people would abandon Goldens. You would think they'd rather sell them for anything before doing that.

Check w/ local animal rescue or police to see if anyone had any puppies stolen. Just a thought.

inthestars 10-20-2004 01:52 PM

He is cute. I wish I had a yard for him..

Tala 10-20-2004 01:53 PM

Yay!! As of tomorrow, he will be BitterPen's new baby! :)

baddog 10-20-2004 02:04 PM

LauraLee 10-20-2004 02:12 PM

Tala,
You have such a good heart girl, wish their were more like you around.

BitterPen, good luck with the new little cutie.

Missy 10-20-2004 02:19 PM

Maybe you should just have him put to sleep. After all, he might become an inconvenience someday, so better to just put him to sleep now than take a chance that he might end up at the SPCA some day.

I hope the cops catch the S.O.B. that tossed them out and prosecute the hell out of them. People that do that shit deserve the shit kicked out of them. WTG, Bitterpen for taking the pup, that was a good hearted gesture and I hope good karma comes your way for a long time. You too, Tala, you both deserve it.

haha... I'm kidding! I know that's not funny, but anybody who read "a particular" thread from the other night would know what I'm talking about, and know that I'm one of the biggest animal lovers alive. Big props to both Tala and BitterPen for giving that sweet guy a chance for a happy life. :thumbsup

Unfortunately labs and goldens are two of the most popular breeds for backyard breeders and those who just don't give a shit.

I work with pug rescue and the golden rescue groups get thousands more dogs a year than we do. They've pretty much stopped getting them from the pound because there are just so many there :(

Tricksy 10-20-2004 02:28 PM

very cute puppy I wish I could afford to have one. I'm always away and on the road...

Fukeneh 10-20-2004 02:31 PM

i found 5 kittens the other day and fed them and took them to a shelter, they were still very young, ill try to dig up the pics later.

CanRX 10-20-2004 02:34 PM

That's a sad story, at least they're ok. I'd take him in a second if you were anywhere close to me.

Gynecologist 10-20-2004 02:37 PM

Whatever you do, do not give the dog to that girl who posted a few days about about putting her dog to sleep due to "behavioral problems."

You're a fine person in my book, I hate people who would do that to an animal.......that guy deserves to be fucked in the ass with a power drill! Good luck with the pups! :thumbsup

wedouglas 10-20-2004 09:45 PM

I hate people who do stuff like that...makes me sick:mad:

JustJen 10-20-2004 09:47 PM

Oh this thread made my night. Really. Good for you Tala and Bitterpen! You both saved that little thing from a horrible fate!

Tam 10-20-2004 09:55 PM

awww. what a cutie, if I lived closer to you, I would definitely take him off your hands. My son had a Black Lab for 3 years and he just came up missing about 2 weeks ago and we can't find him anywhere. My son (who is 10) is heartbroken as hell over his dog, he raised him from a pup........ he asks about him everyday and he has gone door to door and we've called and called, no sign of him anywhere. You have no idea how weird it is to NOT have him out there to protect us or to go with my son when he leaves to look out for him.

I hate it when people are mean to animals like that, there are so many other damn options than to pull a stunt like this. :feels-hot
