Yes, i have used for one for such in the past.

Dunno, but get an I-River instead. More features, better value for money and can definitely be used as a hard drive (20gb or 40gb models) :thumbsup

They make one that has a lcd screen and it'll store and play all sorts of video files in addition to the music.

Yeah the Iriver is way better IMO

storage - yes
running OS - no.

ipod is basically a rip of iriver

iPod came before iriver, and they do completely different things.

Don't fall victim to the Ipod hype. I don't know about the US, but here in the UK Ipod have done a great ad campaign and most people don't even know IRiver exists so go out and buy an Ipod without even realising there are other players on the market to consider.
