Any of you guys ever install a K&N Cold air induction system?

what are your thoughts?

K&N rocks..

I love the AEM system too !

Your choice, but I recommend AEM ! (maybe a little more $$$) !

What's your car ?

My wifes grandfather passed away last month. Her grandmother asked her if she wanted his car. My wife said yes, even though her grandmother told her it was a Ford Station Wagon.

So I'm like,,,what ever. So they had it flatbedded from Florida and it arrived this past weekend. To my surprise it was a brand new Ford Focus wagon with 2400 miles on it. And i was surprised even further when I saw that it had the ZTEC engine.

Since my wife wants to keep it as a 4th car, I told her we need to make grandpa's car faster.:winkwink:

I've got one in one of my cars. Didn't install it though...was in there when I bought it.

Every car i had i ripped the airbox out and slapped on a K&N or a moss filter.....Makes a decent roar also when @ Wide Open Throttle

:glugglug

They don't add a whole lot of power but they make the car sound a lot better .

I've installed one on a 2004 lancer and on a civic

is that just an air filter? if it is i bought one for my trans am. i know nothing about cars and i was able to do it.

It really depends on the car, but since you said CAI, I would go for it. If it replaces the stock airbox, and moves the filter to a new location where it is picking up cooler air, that is what you want.

I wouldn't expect too much of a gain, but it might help throttle response some. I know the 4th gen Camaro's can gain a good 5+ rwh with an airlid, and k&n. Not enough to notice, but the little stuff can add up.

Just make sure not to over oil the filter when the time comes. Excess oil can foul MAF sensors.

put some 19" spinners on it.

still have to get one for my new GTI, had a Green filter on the old car and loved the sound of it combined with the exhaust.

Btw Its awesome how some people believe it add hp to your engine lol Maybe it picks up a bit better but it doens' make it realy faster at all. Certainly not 8 to 10hp like some will tell you.

I just love that sound though :)
