I did an advertising deal with the guys that owned Car.com (the singular version) at the beginning of the year. They sold that over the summer for 8 figures but kept it quiet and out of the news.

I'm sure it worth alot ! |

He told me it was bringing in 3 million car buyer leads per year and facilitating 1.5 million transactions annually. I don't know what Cars.com has sold for, but I don't think it was at that, though it would surely be now. |

1.5 Million * $10k (Modest estimate per car) = $1.5 Billion Some big money is being made there. I wonder how they get on per average unit sold. |

All kinds of domains generate ten digits plus Look no further then ebay, and all they charge is some small aution fee. Its funny how a company can earn billions of dollars by charging $5 here and thirty cents there Makes me realize just how big the internet really is. :winkwink: |
I find it funny that all this money goes round in an extension named .com , it is supposed to be the pinnacle of kapitalism , just the thing communist hate ! .commie :1orglaugh

I worked for the company that owned cars.com and careerbuilder.com, etc. Cars.com was registered long ago by the Detroit Free Press newspaper as the online automotive section of that newspaper's website. Knight Ridder, the corporate parent, gave the domain to Classified Ventures, inc. in order to develop as a national portal.

Certainly couple millions ... it's a fucking nice domain

48 millions ? That's the highest priced domain I've ever heard about |
