day in, day out - does it get boring for you?

speaking of online adult. do you think you are more excited, or less excited about working in this business... than you were, say, 2 years ago?

MickeyG 10-20-2004 06:28 AM

yup its easy to get burnt out.

Nicky 10-20-2004 06:28 AM

I was more excited about it 2 years ago, but I know much more now, so its easier to make money, but yes it gets boring from time to time. Good thing we have GFY :glugglug

Spunky 10-20-2004 06:28 AM

Bored as hell...honestly it is getting harder and harder everyday

The secret to not getting bored is looking for the next trend and being at the front of the pack to pioneer it.

You have to stay challenged.

Plus this business is so amazingly easy. I got 2 checks in the mail last night from rebills on programs I did back in 2002.

I just shake my head when those kinds come in and think what a fun business this is where you don't meet your customers, make money on a worldwide basis, and can stop marketing a program and still make money from it year after year after year.

How can that ever become boring?

Herb Kornfield 10-20-2004 06:54 AM

Business is never boring.....There is always a new challenge ahead somewhere if you look hard enough.

Basic_man 10-20-2004 06:59 AM

I can't find way to make good money :(

WiredGuy 10-20-2004 08:46 AM

Lately, I have been feeling like I'm doing the same thing every day...

Groove 10-20-2004 08:51 AM

I recently started doing some mainstream projects again. And
am feeling much more interested and motivated as a result.

kenny 10-20-2004 08:52 AM

Being in front of a computer is becoming quite the task..

Babaganoosh 10-20-2004 08:53 AM

I am so far beyond burnt out it isn't even funny. Sometimes I can't bring myself to work for over a week at a time. I hope I'm not still doing this in another couple of years. I think I would rather choke on my own vomit.

Vitasoy 10-20-2004 08:55 AM

Doing repetitive things daily, does take it's toll... I like to switch up my routine so it's not as obvious to the mind.

Martin 10-20-2004 08:56 AM

Yes sometimes it gets really boring. When I feel like that I get in my truck
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...271_8_full.jpg
and go off roading, golfing, fishing anything I feel like doing and just be happy that I can do these things when ever I want :glugglug

irishfury 10-20-2004 09:00 AM

Automate most of my stuff so large portions of the day our spent playing xbox and pc games while everything is running in the back ground. Plus that leaves me to try something new if I want to.....

I got that problem too.

I think to myself I am going to get all this work done during the week, I end up doing nothing instead.

BVF 10-20-2004 09:01 AM

If I'm ever feeling down, I take a trip to the po box. There's a good chance a check I wasn't expecting will be in there.

LadyMischief 10-20-2004 09:02 AM

I'm too busy to ever get bored.

NiTe-HaWk 10-20-2004 09:02 AM

I was more interested in doing stuff when I started. I still get days though that I get a good idea and feel the same as if I was just starting. :)

Sosa 10-20-2004 09:03 AM

I usually don't get bored, but need to expand on other ideas within the biz

ztik 10-20-2004 09:03 AM

I think of it as a video game. The better you play, the higher score you get. The higher the score, the more fun. I love this work although sometimes it can be very very stressfull. I don't see how you could be bored as its fun to launch new projects and watch them fail or succeed. There is an unlimited numbers of things to do, you can always improve your product. I love how changes are instant and sometimes changing the smallest thing can help generate alot more revenue. I like the challenge, the fast pace. I been working online since I was 14 and couldn't see myself not doing it.

kenny 10-20-2004 09:06 AM

Day after day, love turns grey
Like the skin of a dying man.
Night after night, we pretend its all right
But I have grown older and
You have grown colder and
Nothing is very much fun any more.

Marcus Aurelius 10-20-2004 09:09 AM

I dont have time to be bored. some of the tasks are tedious, just gotta find excitement in it and stay psyched up about what your working towards

This job beats any job I ever had working for someone else, that alone is worth the occasional randomness of it all.

Manowar 10-20-2004 09:10 AM

sometimes

StuartD 10-20-2004 09:11 AM

I got majorly burnt out earlier in the year... still trying to recover. Now I'm busier than ever and stil attempting to catch up on everything.

If it's not one, it's the other... at this rate, I'll burn myself out again trying to catch up on what I missed from being burnt out! :(

TheJimmy 10-20-2004 09:12 AM

I'm more excited today than I was 2 years ago cuz I'm working on and towards new and different things...

if I was doing the same shit day in and day out I'd be bored...

and I agree with KRL...I get TINY lil deposits to my epassporte account from flashcash that I promoted YEARS ago...nothing huge but you know what? it funds my little book buying sprees on amazon from time to time ;)

:thumbsup :thumbsup to that

NinjaSteve 10-20-2004 09:14 AM

I'm more excited I'd say because the knowledge keeps coming in!

pornguy 10-20-2004 09:16 AM

I like the learning part. Yes some things get boring, but you can always take a break, fo as long as you want, and then finish it later.

No Boss to complain about the breaks.

Sarah_Jayne 10-20-2004 09:19 AM

compared to commuting into London everyday this is a riot

quiet 10-20-2004 09:19 AM

for those who've said they are too busy to be bored: i submit that you can be busy as hell (usually the case in my situation), and still manage to be bored as shit. making loads of money, and still bored out of your mind.

i don't think that one (being busy), necessarily has anything to do with the other...

Juicy D. Links 10-20-2004 09:22 AM

I try to "regroup" my thoughts and stuff every few weeks.

Kinda getting a fresh outlook and stuff.

I go back to what I said Quiet. I find a diversity of projects to keep on my plate so that there is always something new and exciting to work on and you don't get stuck doing the same things day in day out.

What match is that?

Hunter_ST 10-20-2004 09:36 AM

Keeping fresh is important -- I like the thrill of getting a new project going, and seeing it come to fruition.

To keep from getting bored, it's important to try and innovate, or at least do something that's new to you.

Stephen 10-20-2004 09:40 AM

I've been building websites since '94 (adult since '96) and it still excites me to complete a new project, understand a new script, or shoot a new video.

Burn out? That happened years ago...

Love your answer! That is why you will always be sucessful! Positive attitude is the key. This business is sometimes full of drama and it is easy to get swept up sometimes however, this is also a fun, non corporate business with some great people in it.. Everytime I think I am burnt out I just remember the really cool people this job has allowed me to meet... and keep on trucking!:)

I get bored and burnt out..then I find some other project to occupy my mind.

I just have to have my hobbies to keep me sane.
