how long do you get to cancel a check...
 

payed someone for services that weren't rendered and wondering if I should cancel the check or wait a few days... gave her the check tues night and was suppose to meet yesterday but didn't call me back...

you can cancel until it gets cashed

She's a girl that plays on my pool team (league) and knew i wanted to start my own sites... asked me if she could model for me... i've got everything on backorder (camera and shit) and she needed the money right away urgently (need to pay her PO)... she quit her job and asked me if I could give her the money... I figured it would be ok to go ahead and pay her in advance... was gonna go ahead and do a test shoot with an old vid cam i've got until the better one arrives, but she didn't call me back yesterday after her PO appointment...

It's not the first time being a nice guy has fucked me... but hopefully she's not like that... I did check the county sherriff's page and the charges she told me about were there and she wasn't lying about being arrested... not sure if she really needed the money to pay her PO to keep out of jail though... we'll see...

your bank probably has an online service or an 800 # to call to see if the check was cashed do that right now and see if you can stop it... Good luck... Also if she messes with you and doesn't give it back tell her you will go to her PO

PO's do not collect money for the court.

Shit... now I cancelled the check and she ends up calling me like an hour later saying her phone was messing up, blah blah blah...

Will she know I cancelled the check or can I make up some bs about my account being low or some shit?
