I think they should give the game to Boston

New Yorkers are such assholes. . . . throwing shit because one of their cheater Yankee's gets busted . . . they should auto lose this game

baddog 10-19-2004 08:44 PM

police in riot gear just to babysit the NY fans . . . I would be embarrassed if I were a fan or resident.

Zerof8 10-19-2004 09:23 PM

I think they deserve to lose just because of what there whole team is based on. If your good we will buy you. It doesnt give other teams a fare shot. I know that sports arent about being fare but you would all feel the same way if you rooted for the Royals. We spend the same amount on the whole team that NY spends on the towel boy.

Alltopnotch 10-19-2004 09:26 PM

don't worry...it's the redsox' turn this year...

That is not what the Yankees are based on. The Yankees have a rich history. Yes the team is well off financialy. They earn it they are managed well upstairs its just like any other business. Just like the big players in this business that so many people look up to.

The Sox just so happen to be right under the Yankees as far as total payroll. Does that mean every team they beat to get up to this point should whine and cry about it. The pitcher on the mound tonight for the sox was BOUGHT just for this rivalry.

Hate the Yanks if you want everyone has there own team, but the Yankees are still a huge part of baseball history.

So it's ok for Boston to have the 2nd highest payroll and make no mention of that. Nice arguement. :helpme

I think they are saying baseball should be run in a communist type fashion.

A salary cap is communist, never heard that before. Interesting and funny at the same time.

BruceM 10-20-2004 11:56 AM

Totally agree, that A-Rod bullshit was a complete joke. How can the guy act like he didn't break the rules?

So why do Boston fans always say they have better players anyways?

A-Rod hit a blooper, the pitcher picked it up and ran to tag him out. A-Rod then started flailing his arms around like he was running the 50 yard dash in the Special Olympics and swatted the ball out of the pitcher's glove.

Jeter who was on first scored.

The umps then called A-Rod out for interference (proper call) and Jeter had to come back to first base.

The Yankee "fans" then started throwing baseballs and other crap at the umps and BoSox players whenever things did not go right. They eventually had to bring cops in riot gear out onto the field to restore order.

It was the 8th and 9th inning, so my opinion is that they should have just called it and given it to Boston.

Well, that was my opinion then anyway. In the end it was fun watching NY get their hopes up, only to lose anyway.

Guys try different things all the time. They argue and play stupid when they are out when stealing a base or run out of the base line etc. I dont understand why there is so much drama about this. I could see if the Umpires actualy gave it to them and Boston lost but the call WAS corrected.

I have a feeling there are a lot of people here that watch baseball only in the post season. Its not a big fucking deal what he did. Its not fucking cheating it was the equivalent of trying to run someone over in the base line but it was a pretty shitty attempt at pulling it off :1orglaugh the Umps got it right. No need to bitch further.

So every team that is beneath the Sox in payroll should bitch about it? After all the sox did advance and they didnt.

Not to mention the main reason the Sox PURCHASED Schilling was for the Yankee rivalry.

Shitty argument.

Gee I don't know...But let me take a shot at it...

1.Curt Schilling #1 in wins with 21
He is also number 2 in era with a 3.26
2.Pedro Martinez #6 in wins with 16
(Yankees best pitcher only has 14 tied with bostons Derek Lowe)
3.Manny Ramirez #1 in home runs with 43 and david ortiz is in #3 with 41
4.David ortiz #2 with 139 rbi and manny coming in at 130 rbi

But I don't know why I would say we have better players...

I know that's why I said it was funny, but it's also an interesting thought.

So it's game 7 is tonight right? That's crazy. Baseball is the only major sport I don't follow, but I'll have to watch this one. I'm a fan of the underdog and I guess the Red Sox are basically the biggest underdog in the history of sports because of the curse and being down 3-0.

Anyone know who's pitching tonight?

Adultlegal 10-20-2004 01:26 PM

Yup game 7 is tonight

Go Sox

but baseball does need a salary cap

look how competitive the NFL is.
