I dont see how actors can fluctuate their weight like that without negative effects on their health. I guess the millions of dollars help a little.

I *love* Christian Bale.... it's incredible how thin he got for the movie! I can't wait to see it now.

Alot of people whined when they chose him as the new batman, if the guy gives that kinda commitment to a role then the new batman should be a nice film.

But I agree his weight loss was pretty shocking for that flic. He apparently wanted to lose even more (20 pounds) but the producers wouldn't let him.

re: weight gain/loss. tom hanks, and a host others did it. and it's good publicity too, when the movie isn't a good thing to talk about during interviews, promotions

I saw him in captain Corelli's Mandolin, Shaft, American Psycho, Mary, Mother of Jesus, and played great, but his most astonishing movie is Empire of the Sun, where he is 12-13 y.o., he is absolutely brilliant in that movie!!!
