know any good programs to learn how to type faster?
 

I'd like to improve my typing skills and I was wondering if there are any good programs I can download?

notepad. just type things over and over

theres a flash typing game that helps.

I just had several people suggest Mavis Beacon, too.

Chat rooms, it is simular to emersion language programs where they drop you in a foreign country and you sink or swim. Get in a good chat room and you will push yourself to type fast enough to keep up.

I type fast, but I'm having problems with typing without looking at the keyboard. I thought there might be a program that would show which fingers should cover which keys :glugglug

You could go by a 5th grade classroom and borrow their keyboard hand position chart if thats a problem.

I can type in the dark without looking at the keys, it just comes from practice. Just like someone learning a guitar starts off a lot slower.
