I have so much designing to do its not even funny!!!! When looking at designers prices, for the amount of work I need done, it would cost me well over 10k to do all the work I need. I am stuck doing it all myself.

Mainstream design seems so much cheaper!!!

if your wondering how much work i have it is: 30 member areas, 150 2 page tours, 150 full page ads, 150 half page ads, 150 full size banners, 150 small size banners and 90 gallery templates.

you should break it down by priority you should start with what you think will make the most money the fastest and then take the revenue from that and finish the rest as your earnings grow...

shoot if it was my total decision i would, but i have partners and we all make decisions together!

Best thing to do is hire in-house staff to do all your work if its that extensive.

The economics are much better and you have total control.

gawd you don't even want to know how lucrative mainstream is for a designer. we're talkin 40-50% up to even 150% markups compared to adult.

you guys all are saying mainstream is not cheaper lol its funny becasue it actually is, I did mainstream design for awhile and it was much cheaper!!! just my 2Cents

I used to do mainstream too before I entered adult and let me tell you, we were able to charge about 5 times for a project the same size as an adult one. Only problem, wich made me go in Adult deisgning, is the fact that in this type of biz is soo much easier and a lot less hassle with clients.

yup.... some top flash design sites i know of charge the minimum $20k to do a basic site

i dont think you know what ur saying, and designers are actually not charging enough... when talent and skill is invovled, and its something you cant do, designers come in... but these guys are stupid dropping prices and competing... they should get together and raise prices together, like gas stations do :thumbsup

I used to do the mainstream thing myself and made TONS more money for my work than I do in adult.

I've never known mainstream to be cheaper for design, programming, hosting, bandwidth... nothing.

If your budget is 10k or less for all that, I wouldn't expect to much. You will end up with templated tours and everything else templated. Is that waht you really want?

there is a price associated with quality work. Maybe consider downsizing your project to a more affordable range that will suit your budget.

Good luck but I would be very hesitent regardless of who they are if they say sure we can do that for 10k.

for sure, there's no way i'd even touch it for less than 40k, but i would ass-to-the-grindstone it and try to do every next task better than the last.
