I Just Watched Farenheit 911 ...devastating... and
kinda cool that it finished with Canadian Neil Young singing Rockin' in the Free World.
May Bush loose on Nov 2, and Freedom be restored to America! :thumbsup |
question time....
Can you name a single freedom that America has lost under George W. Bush? |

That is not an answer to the question.
But, If you'd you'd like to narrow the question... Can you name a single freedom that America has lost under The Patriot Act? |
Have you also watched, "911 The Road To Tyranny infowars" yet? I thought it was better. It has a lot of scenes where cops were abusing their power. :warning

Search houses without a court order and without notifying ( even after the fact ) the occupants of that house ...
If some liberties were not LOST, they were seriously amputated, just like about 6000 US soldiers. |
I'm not looking for a debate here or anything, I'm looking for the general view of what right/freedoms people in and outside of America think America has lost... specifically.

The Supreme Court is addressing this as the cases reach them. But it takes time. Americans were held at Guantanamo Bay as "Illegal Combatants" WTF newspeak is that???? God seems to have forgotten America. |

Good, real answers.
That's what I'm looking for. |

USA Patriot Act was passed nearly unanimously by the Senate 98-1, and 357?66 in the House, with the support of members from across the political spectrum. Do some research before you speak. |

I think many reforms on how our political system works need to be made. |

" You do not want a debate" means " I have nothing to answer to your statment".... |

The right to a speedy trial when arrested under national security. The right to a judge issued search warrant. Habeus Corpus. The right to privacy. The government can require companies to hand over your personal information without a warrant. The right to protest without fear of arrest (NYC Republican National Convention protestors were arrested without cause as judged by the NY Supreme Court). I can go on and on. |
Capital punishment is flawed. We've sent innocent people to die in electric chairs and locked some away for decades, even after trials, laywers, and judges have heard their cases.
Imagine what could happen if people are allowed to be held and charged, without lawyers, judges, or trials. A lof of people could go missing for no good reason, and it's easy to say, hey they're only going to target terrorists, until it happens to you or one of your family members. I don't know if we've lost "a" freedom per se but it's only now that I've read of instances of people being held without access to lawyers or anybody for that matter. Pretty scary. |
