Fucking hotlinkers...
So I see a forum is hotlinking all pictures from my gall today. Is it possible to redirect all their traffic to a paysite?
|
sure have your host set it up
|
You can do it via .htaccess
Not sure how. all of our paysites have the free images watermarked so I like forums hotlinking the free galleries. |
Erm, if they are just hotlinking an image and not linking as in href then no you cannot redirect their traffic.
.htaccess RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$ RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?domainsyouwanttoallow.com(/)?.*$ [NC] RewriteRule .*\.(htm|jpg|jpeg|gif|png|bmp)$ http://www.redirectdomain.com [R,NC] haha123 = the other bracket } |
|
You could email the forum administrator and tell him to take the pics down....
|
water mark all your stuff it's great free advertising so that if you are hotlinked you can get a little something out of it...

I'd recommend you redirect hotlinked graphics to another graphic or even better.. a script/application with a referrer tag embedded.
With the script/application, you can check the referring URL and send the appropriate format (graphic image or movie). And you can always look at what graphic they're referring to. If it's in your thumbs directory, send them a fake "Fuck off, asshole" file. If it's a full size image you think they're linking directly to (not via an <IMG>), maybe you send them to a popup hell. |
Pics of ******* would give you your desired effect. :1orglaugh
