I only learned about the original version after Snoop covered it. The original was released in what 1985 or was it earlier like 1983?

I've since listened to the original.

Not sure the date. I bought it on a tape called "Power Rap" that had the Chicago Bears Superbowl Shuffle on it as well as many other classics. I must have bought it around 86 or so.
