Sure, US Currency is accepted in Canada - not on the tables here tho, you need to change it first. When in Canada, I spend canadian - US, USD - Mexico, Pesos.

I rarely have anyone say I have to change my US money elsewhere. Most places around here will give you a fair exchange rate on the spot, don't know about where you are.

Here in Winnipeg we are US-friendly, we love taking their money. Shit, even my neighborhood grocery store gave me a good exchange rate right at the checkout the last time I passed a c-note.

I'm in Halifax, and you need to change everything at the bank/cashier - unless you're at a chain place. Casino won't take US at the table.

That's fucked mon. Here at our big casinos, you have to go to the cashier to buy your chips and tokens etc etc.... so you just change it at the cashier... because you're going there anyway. But in the bars that have gaming, they will give you an acceptable exchange rate right at the gaming window, at least the bars I tend to gamble at all do.

The attitude is all about tourism. Why make US patrons jump through hoops to get their bills changed?



And your comment about "mexico = pesos" isn't exactly accurate either. In the several trips I've taken there they happily accepted US currency everywhere. At the front desk of my hotel they always exchanged my US traveller's cheques with not a word about it other than "gracias meester smeeth"

The only 2 places I've used US in Mexico is with cabs & airport food. Mind you, they do change my US to Pesos as well.

Mexican hookers will give you a great exchange rate....
