SE Question: Switching Domain Names

I have owned the .us of a domain name for a few years - I'm buying the .com extension from a domain brokerage company - how can I make the switch to .com without it affecting my search engine results?

do what GFY does with

www.gofuckyourself.com
and

You can't.

To my best knowledge.

I was wondering about this.

Google counts these as seperate pages.

Google also counts (for some retarded reason)

www.domain.com
domain.com

As seperate pages.

This hurts you because of the overall linking structure.

People have different ways to link your page, each one being counted as a seperate page.

Your site shouldnt revolve around google. But in any case, i guess you really have to start all over with SEO on the new domain. But still try do the thing GFY does here so that the work on the .us doesnt go to waste.

don't the search engines block you if you have duplicate pages with the same content?

I say you make them separate pages!!
