Back in the 70's and 80's I worked on numerous low budget films that became cult classics: DeathStar 2000, $10,000 budget, but $5k went to beer
Halloween was shot for $50k, and sat on the shelf for 2 years.
Anyone remember Zalmon King's "Red Shoe Diaries" on HBO.
His first 3 'demo' scenes had 2 actors and were shot for $5k each. HBO paid $50k each for the scenes and ordered 10 more at $75k each.
By the fourth season, Zalmon was getting $300k per episode, 13 episodes a year at a cost of $75k each....nice bank on a fun, easy to produce 1/2 hour show.
HBO and Cinemax are going crazy for new sexy series...come up with a theme and some scripts, make some demos and produce the next hit, and of course hit me up if you're serious. I've already talked to them, have two ideas and scripts ready to go and interested in moving to the 'soft porn' cable tv market.
