How well do single-girl sites do?

How well do single girl sites do - particularly ones where the girl is a professional porn star and gets a lot of media attention?

Wizard-X 10-15-2004 05:38 PM

let me re-phrase that. How well do they convert?

sean416 10-15-2004 05:49 PM

In my opinoin you cant ask these open ended questions and expect a good answer. I dont like to be the type who says "it depends on a million different thigns and theres no answer" cause that doesnt really help you. But the major factors that it depends on are how much content is on the site, is the content exclusive, is it her official site.

Assuming the content is exclusive, theres lots of it, its her official site and you're throwing targetted single-girl or pornstar traffic at it, then its going to convert really well. But if you buy a porn star domain, throw up some over saturated content thats been around since 96, and throw a bunch of general traffic at it, its not going to do well at all.

Hope that helps.

You are entirely right - I did post an open ended question - but I did it to get more ideas of what I should state/ask.

It's definently not from '96 since she has been around for less than a year, and it is the official site. She is young, beautiful and very popular.

I figured a pornstar site would do well since I see so many of these amateur one-girl sites.

Is member-retention more difficult with a site that deals with just one girl than a site that offers it's customers more variety?

Your answer helped - thank you.

One thing you should keep in mind is that you aren't competing against the amateur one girl sites. Those sites convert well because people dont want to see the beautiful, well known porn stars doing the same thing over again, they sign up for those amateur sites to see just that, an average looking amateur girl who runs a little site and its a more intimate experience.

On the other hand, it doesnt mean porn star sites arent profitable, of course they are. It's just a different type of surfer. If you have exclusive content, young promising new talent (model/porn star) and its her official site, then it really has potential to take off. You incorporate a diary, newsletter, 'inside scoop' on what shes going to be doing next, etc. Also offer some personalized pictures like fan signs, etc.

When you're promoting it, you're going to want to tap into both the single girl sites and the porn star niche. But when you're tapping into the single girl sites, you have to make sure you give off the right image.

Anyway, I know its important to get feedback from more then one person "dont put all your apples in one basket" so I'll leave my comments at that and allow some other members to give you some input.

Good Luck!

Thank you very much sean, I value all the feedback I can get.

I was doing 20 sales a day purely from one pornstar's site, but it was search engine traffic, usually converting around 1:89.

dude...
find a hot girl and u can answer ur own Q.

Most surfers looking for single girl sites are looking for interaction. So the more the girl interacts with members via chat, web cam, email etc... The better they do.

Just my two cents. :)

Hugs,
Danielle

Mine is doing good but like everyone said you have to interact.

Thanks,

Vanessa

The trick to the single girl sites is that the girl must interact with the surfers in such a way that they fall in love with the model. The site must be updated frequently and have interactive features if possible....chat, webcam, etc...

Just my :2 cents:

my buddy runs a single girl site. as long as the content is fresh and you make the site "personal" you should do all right.

Wizard-X 10-21-2004 11:34 AM

sin, if you don't mind, could you give me numbers? like traffic/# of members/gross per month? i don't want to know the domain or name or anything....just the numbers. thanks.
