Why do you care if somebody approves it or not, if you know all the facts you know the truth, no matter who approves it or not.

There's a lot of truth to this, coming down to each party's definition of "patriotism". One interesting analogy is that Republicans love their country in a maternal fashion, such as the way you love your parents. You love them regardless of however they fucked up your life.
