I think that was Silva second professional match, I've seen it and thought the ref called it too early he was down but he was perfectly fine defending himself.

If they ever fought again in the ring with Pride rules, Silva would dominate.

I kinda agree, Couture in a ring with UFC rules would just pin him to a cage and do a brutal ground and pound. (but if they stay standing Silva would win)


In the ring with Pride rules, (foot stomping, and soccer kicks to the head) Silva would own.

Silva just lost a decision to K-1 champ Mark Hunt, I personally think Silva won the fight, but hey, I'm not one of the judges. Silva was also giving up 60lbs to Hunt in the fight.

But yah, even though Pride feeds Silva a bunch of tomato cans most of the time, he does show he is a top 5 fighter when he fights other good fighters.

Silva has very good takedown defense. I am not sure how he would hold up to Coutre, but he rapes Sakuraba whenever they fight, and Saku is the "Gracie killer".

Silva is #1 along with Couture (until they meet) in my book, he demolished all contenders in his weight class. In the Cage Couture may have the upper hand, but in the ring... There is no chance for Couture.

yeah i saw the fight against hunt... hunt only had 3 days of training so he lasted pretty well... but vanderlai should of won the fight on decision...

silva should bulk and put extra kilo's i'd love to see him fight against heavyweights like fedor...

I think he should stay at his weight class. As you seen... Hunt dominated the standup. IF he ever moved up to heavy weight Fedor would brutaly give him the biggest beat down he ever had in his life. Fedor not only is great stand up and has a unbelievable ground and pound and is awersome at submission defense. It would be no contest.

Crocop was not as polished as he is now, it would be a totally different story if they meet again. Don't get me wrong silva is a beast but he should not fight heavy weights.
