British Army come to rescue Bush and American forces.
Well George Bush is now running scared.
Today, British forces were asked to go north to Iraqi hotspots to sort out the mess made by American forces. With the south of Iraq in relative peace after the "softly softly approach" by British forces, they have now been asked to go to the areas of the country that the Americans have fucked up by killing and bombing innocent people. George Bush wants no problems in the run up to the elections, and so has asked Tony Blair if his troops can help sort out the mess that his forces cannot deal with. Our boys should say "fuck you! You made the mess, sort it out yourself". American heavy handed technics have been foound to be completely wanting, with many thousands of innocent women, children and men killed in bombing attacks when the US forces have been afraid to go in on foot, unlike their British counterparts that have been completely successful in ther operations. |

NEXT ELECTION HE IS GONE. HOPEFULLY.:thumbsup |
Yup, same reason we are there. To help the Americans.
Funny so many Americans on this board are retarded enough to complain about Europe all the time, calling us pussies etc. But "the most powerful nation on earth" need us pussies to clean up the mess they made. |
Both Blair and Bush will be replaced but their replacements will be controlled by the exact same people. So no improvement.

I think english troops are better at peacekeeping but we don't have enough

It comes as no surprise to me that the British would be asked to sort out some of this mess, the Americans tend to come in heavily-handed into civilian area's, you only have to watch the news to see American troops pull people out of their houses, have everyone spread-eagled and point pistols to grandma's head while someone feel's her up for weapons. I saw one of the British Captains whom was asked "why do you feel you're not having the same sort of problems in Basra?" He basically replied that the civilian population asked they do not make Basra a war-zone, and they respected that, whilst fighting insurgents they did not punish and endanger the civilian population, something America cannot say they've done. |

okay two things: #1 The Labour really has too big a majority to have another party win gov't. #2 The only way Blair himself will be out after the election is if he doesn't win his own seat which is not going to happen. I am sure I don't need to give a 101 on how the British gov't is elected...do I? |

BRITISH not just English. I am not being an ass, normally I let that stuff go but in this case to just say English you are discounting all Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish soldiers. oh and this story is on the BBC - with less harsh language, of course - so it is likely to be the case that the request has been made/ |
No offence to the Brits, I think they are a great nation and great people. Their soldiers are very capable and do a great job. Comparing Basra and the south to the Sunni Triangle and Shi'a hot spots is not really a fair comparison. :2 cents:

If someone came into my area, shooting up the place every other day, holding my neighbours up against walls and basically running roughshot over my customs and my religion (e.g frisking women etc.) killing people three streets down from me I'd be upset as well, which is probably what is fueling most Iraqi's into fighting in hotspots like Fallujah. This coupled with the fact that a lot of people do not have a job, no electricity (turning on the generator is how 3 contractors lost their life, when they were abducted by terrorists) and there are problems with sanitation is beginning to turn the population against the U.S, they could fix half the problems with insurgents tomorrow if they just fixed a few of the services - however the Administration in it's wisdom turned down the rebuilding contracts unless you were involved in the war, so countries that could be in Iraq fixing things and helping stabilize the population are not being used - you will never fight insurgency whilst the conditions that produce insurgents exist. |
