Where do you live, the ghetto? I live in downtown Oakland and I wouldn't say there's any more threatening black people than there are threatening white people in the average downtown setting. I could make the argument that they're more poor, and maybe that increases the crime rate... but I don't know about "threatening" necessarily.

I can't say I've had a lot of black friends. Maybe a half a dozen. None of them seemed any more threatening than myself.

I used to live in the Crenshaw district of LA. Never had a problem. Sure, you'd hear gunshots at night and there's quite a few fools trying to act hard...but the majority of the folk there (black, latin, asian, and white) are just doing what I was doing---trying to make that dollar and moving on.

Vermont Circle and some other 'black' areas are actually very beautiful.

I've known a few black people and haven't found them threatening in the least. Of the ones I know, they're some of the funniest fuckers I've ever met.

On that note, I quoted More Booze to offer this tidbit of information.

While I don't believe that true of black people it IS of aboriginals.

I've always been one to look someone straight in the eye when I talk to them and find someone that doesn't reciprocate as uh, shady.

However, my wife found out about a year ago, that aboriginals find it offensive WHEN you look them in the eye. It's simply a cultural difference. So now, I make a point of NOT looking them in the eyes, which is difficult, because "I" feel like I'M the one who's trying to hide something.

One of my best friends in the world is Black and although he's 6' 6" and 280lbs he's not threatening at all! I wouldn't want to piss him off but he is one of the nicest guys I know.

We used to go to the Miami Dolphins games together when we were in College and he would just walk down to the sidelines and chill with the players. No one ever said a word to him!!!

I have one black friend and he is always getting into trouble. The only time I really interact with blacks is at the poker rooms here in LA. I don't have any problem with them.

But, in fairness, my buddy (who's black for the point of this conversation) has told me that some of his black friends are no different and just as racist as some white people.

The problem isn't exclusive to one race. Every race has racists. Every race has people who could give a shit what color someone's skin is.

People tend to stick with what they know and anything different is scary to them. They show their fear by reacting negatively to them, EVEN if unconsciously.
