Seems my camera outlet was telling me that the $400 zoom lens which my kid helped me break on holidays, would cost more than that to repair, and that I should just buy another one.

So I get a phone call from the repair center in Ontario... $110 including shipping flat rate, now I just have to check with the local repair center, to see if I can get it for less.
