I have created a few feeder sites, now i need to submit to search engines. I know some like google spider your page, But which ones should i submit to manually and then others with autosubmit?


I know altavista and lycos.

Also are there any good free/pay autosubmitters?

http://www.dmoz.org and do it right and all the others will pick you up,

post the domains and i'll take care of them for free

anything on generating effective meta tags?

Google doesn't use them, some of the others do, but they are more unimportant.

Inktomi is about the only ones I here where it is still important, but you get so much crap with their listings - it's a wonder anyone gets any traffic.

AV claims to use foreign words in your meta tags - so that they are there for letting them know what your page is about in other languages as well.

Others will penalize you for using tgas that aren't present on the page.

I do not use them, well usually I don't. Google is the only useful engine anymore - the others can pick them up if they want.
