Bill O'Reilly's a sexual predator

First Rush, now O'Reilly. I love these 'moral' conservatives.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6242870/

NEW YORK - Bill O?Reilly, whose Fox News Channel show is the highest-rated cable news program, has been accused of sexual harassment by one of his producers. O?Reilly says the complaint is a politically motivated extortion attempt.

Both sides filed lawsuits Wednesday, with the woman, Andrea Mackris, saying the commentator had phone sex with her against her wishes three times.

In his claim against Mackris and her attorney, Benedict Morelli, O?Reilly said Morelli demanded $60 million in ?hush money? to not file the lawsuit.

?As a public figure, I have received many threats,? he said. ?But enough is enough ... The threats stop now. I will not give in to extortion.?

Mackris, 33, is an associate producer on ?The O?Reilly Factor,? a job she returned to in July after a short stint at CNN.

During a phone conversation this August, Mackris, 33, said O?Reilly suggested she buy a vibrator and was clearly excited. Before hanging up, she said, O?Reilly told her: ?I appreciate the fun phone call.?

She contended he made a similar call Sept. 21, ending that one by saying: ?Next time you?ll come up to my hotel room and we?ll make this happen.?

bringer 10-14-2004 08:47 AM

i find is odd that he filed his suit before she did. if she didnt attempt to extort money from him how did he know and have time to prepair a lawsuit against her?

acctman 10-14-2004 08:50 AM

this is going to be GOOD, o'reilly ticks me off sometimes claiming not to be on a certain side when it's clear his position from the start

bringer 10-14-2004 08:51 AM

you all want this to be true so you are labeling him guilty without knowing much about it. replace oreilly with michael moore and thered be 50 threads calling her a lieing whore

Tom_PMs 10-14-2004 08:55 AM

Oreilly himself said he doesnt care if this ends his career, that his attitude, win OR lose, was enough already.
What I found most startling in the story was it says his show is the most popular on cable news tv? Thats wild, lmao.

Incidently, on television interview this morning, Oreilly didn't deny that it happened. He simply went on about how people attack him and all this and that. Found that interesting.

There were probably discussions before the court filings to get it to stop.

In this part of the complaint O'Reilly talks about and threatens Al Franken.

'Look at Al Franken, one day he's going to get a knock on his door and life as he's known it will change forever. That day will happen, trust me.'

who exactly is he?

Since ratings determine who is the most popular he is correct. Love him or hate him he has the number one new show on cable.

Get out of the spin zone buddy. Threatening to sue someone unless they pay up is not extortion, happens with just about every suit thats filed.

Of COURSE she'd be a lieing whore.

Who in their right mind would admit to anything sexual with Michael Moore??

They're claiming that they have recordings.

I hope that mother fucker goes down, and I hope it makes FOX ratings low as shit.

Tom_PMs 10-14-2004 09:23 AM

Apparently her allegations are extremely specific, leading many to believe that she indeed does have several audio tapes.

If it was Michael Moore I would feel the exact same way: Is it true or is it false? If it's true, then there needs to be consequences. It's not a "right or left" issue, it's a "right or wrong" issue :thumbsup

What's even more wild, is that he made a comment a few weeks back, making fun of the Jon Stewart show and their audience, well, that same day a report came out with statistics showing that the Average O'Reily listener did not graduate from college, and the average Stewart listener has a college degree.

now THAT is funny.

i dont hope its not true but im not going to say it is simply because i dislike him. my head up my ass huh? because i dont follow your idiotic views on life. "if i dislike someone, anything negative said about them is automaticly true and i will distort the facts to convince others it is. maybe ill find others who dislike that person aswell and i get them to quote things i say about the issue rather then looking into it for themselves they'll be my friend. look at me, im a whore"

he shut his mouth quick after that came out. he repeats the crap about his show being the number1 watched news show on cable, making his head expanded at alarming rates. he's an idiot who is too full of himself.

Now you're back to making shit up. Exactly what facts have I distorted?

Here's more 'distorted' facts for ya:

The suit, filed by Andrea Mackris, a 33-year-old associate producer on "The O'Reilly Factor," quotes O'Reilly as speaking to her in highly explicit terms about vibrators, oral sex, masturbation and a fantasy in a Caribbean hotel room shower.

The suit also quotes O'Reilly as threatening "any woman" who would complain about his sexual advances, and as suggesting Fox News chief Roger Ailes would "go after" enemies of the channel.

maybe the thread title followed with a link to only her claims.

i know you wish there was only one side to the story, the side you agree with, but that just isnt the case. i know you get your news from michael moore and are used to his production techniques, but most people see threw that bullshit.

quoting things from within her claim shouldnt be considered "facts".

:Graucho Fox has over 25% of the news market.... Way more than alll the Networks news combined.

ShellyCrash 10-14-2004 10:06 AM

The reason the Fox camp knew what was comming is because they offered to settle outside of court before filing. The lawyers for the assist. producer met with Fox news execs a few times, but they were firm on the $60 mil - so Fox decided to file first.
Fox didn't want to pay out 60 mil without having all the evidence on the table, the other side didn't want to put all the evidence on the table to prevent Fox from getting a head start- so Fox decided that filing first would be in their best interest. I think if they would have known the entire case they would have settled and we never would have known the wiser.

O'Rielly probably did say those things, but if she was truelly in horror, it wouldn't have percisted to the extend it did. If you can tell someone's jacking off on the phone and you're "disgusted"- you fucking hang up- end of story. Because O'Reilly was rich, she broke out a tape recorder instead.

And one other note- O'Reilly has the highest "cable news" ratings- not the highest ratings in cable. :thumbsup

If Oreilly started jacking off on the phone you're damn right I would bring out the recorder, fuck him. Same shit they did to Clinton, and at the time Oreilly bashed Clinton. He's just another hypocritical prick that needs to be exposed.

The thing is that it's not that simple. Sexual Harrassment in the Workplace can only take place when someone feels their advancement or job is or could be affected.. Thats really a core issue, whether she left and came back or was just hired or whatever the case.
If Oreilly called you or me and breathed heavy or whatever, we just hang up and it's case closed. But she was/is an employee at the same company and that makes it a workplace sort of issue.

It could very well be that even if all of those allegations are true of words spoken and whatnot, the case wont hinge on that at all. But rather if he was in a position to affect her job in any way..

easy, call up someone and start having a regular convo then start talking about how you want to fuck them. intial reaction of the other person would be shock, and probably hang up. that's phone sex, now you can also say he just talked about sex and she hung up but it sounds better in the news when you say phone sex.

what guy would admit to sexual harrasment, it's not like the woman is ugly it wouldn't be hard to believe that O'Reilly gets horny too. just cause he's famous doesn't mean he's innocent. i'd deny it too if i did it. it's stupid to say yes i did it come on now.

Gynecologist 10-14-2004 11:19 AM

Of course we all know women never make this stuff up.

CybermedAndy 10-14-2004 11:27 AM

Words cannot descibe how happy I was to read that.

O'Reilly is everything thats wrong with journalism and the media today.

piker 10-14-2004 11:39 AM

Another note of interest... though im guessing most you in this thread dont care... too blind to notice.... is that Bill O'Reilly is not a traditional conservative... he is a registered independent... but i guess that probably doesnt matter to you left wingers who try to "stick to the man"..

it would be smart to register as independent if your job is to report on politics. it doesn't matter what you're registered under it just apparently clear that O'Reilly favors repubs

Arousal Design 10-14-2004 12:06 PM

so many posts in this thread had me laughing out loud because of the imagery gotten like...

"If Oreilly called you or me and breathed heavy or whatever, we just hang up and it's case closed. " - Tom PM

"If Oreilly started jacking off on the phone you're damn right I would bring out the recorder, fuck him." - ThunderBalls

You guys rock!

TheSaint 10-14-2004 12:12 PM

O'reilly is actually kind of in the middle of the road on issues, sure can be an asshole at times but other times is actually very reflective.

Only thing I know for sure is that the whole charge is 100%bullshit.

When you ask for 60 million - by definition you ARE a lying whore. Sure sexual intimidation does happen in thw workplace - you go before the EEOC and state your case, not ask for 60 million in cash when you are a low level looser employee like she was.

there is some logic behind the amount. ask a lawyer, that why companies get sued for billions. they don't have it but the higher you sue the better the chance of you gettting something lower. a lot of times it's just to ruin a company or persons. O'Reilly probably doesn't have 60million but its a large enough figure to ruin him and prove a point.
