What can you do when someone steals your content ?

Recently i just bought a load or quite expensive content to use on some of my gallerys and within 2 days of submitting it to a TGP i had seen 3 almost exact compies of my galleries . And all these being hosted on terra i seriously doubt they bought it themselves . Is there anything i can do to make them take down there gallerys .

Perhaps there should be a website where we can report all the fuckers that steal content and layouts . Because im getting sick of it . I spend 2 hours designing a gallery and then some 15 year old twat kid comes along ripps it off and makes money out of my hard work . DAMN that pisses me off !

I don't know, but I'm guessing you could e-mail the tgp webmaster asking for the e-mail addresses of the people who submitted those other galleries, and then report it to the company you bought your content from.

Report it to the content provider and see what they can dig up. They will know if they sold alot of it in the recent past etc. Not that that could mean a thing but it could also prove you are the only one to have bought that particular content so far. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif

Then you can go to terra and raise Cain.

Hmmm... effective, yet somewhat MOB-like.
How about configuring your server to prevent such a thing. You can't really stop someone from stealing your design... unless you spend an assload on trademarks... and then of course $$$$$$$$$ on lawyers to sue, but you can stop the content stealing.

Oh, so there's nothing the owner of the content can do? How about taking someone to court? How about reporting them to APIC (http://www.a-w.org/).

Things can be done, oh yeah!

The Rules:

1. Strike back, hard and fast, at people that have fucked you... WHEN YOU CAN.
2. Prevent yourself from being fucked further... WHEN YOU CAN'T.
(and most essential of all,)
3. Let go of it when THERE AIN'T A FUCKIN' THING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.

Of course the lesson and moral of the story here is that you should learn to recognize and distinguish between the three scenarios and apply the most appropriate course of action.
If you truly feel you have a legitimate copyright infringement case in your favor, then by all means, see rule #1 and pursue legal courses of action.
If the offender is in another country or is otherwise untraceable, ... see rule #3.
