Fuck Network Solutions !

As I previously stated I had someone steal my domains . I got them all back except one www.backstagebabes.com . the person dorian i spoke of in a previusly post got my id and social security card and faxed them over to change my passcodes. So he was able to move that 1 domain to some fake name he scammed up.

I got the fax back to me today from Netsol the one he forged and on the bottom it says file://c : Dorian/realwildgirls/networksolutins.

now they still dont know its a scam after all that ! The name is on lock and I will get it back but they really suck at preventing fraud.

Anyone know of any better registrars I can move my shit too ?

I've been around for years and the best one I have dealt with is godaddy.com

They are much cheaper than Networksolutions..

I really hope you are kidding.

Directnic or domaindirect are good

Realwild-Terry 10-13-2004 01:16 PM

I have a few through direct Nic and they seem ok . But over at netsol I even put added security on the domains and this fucker still got the domains . I hate puting things in legal lock cause it takes forever to get out . Im just going to icann and I already filed the police report . I just need a good registrar .
This isnt the first time this has heppened to me through network solutions. And its the same person over and over again trying to steal the domains Dorian Verizzo ... he used to come on the boards as modulator. But I dont see him here any more...

johndoebob 10-13-2004 01:19 PM

No registrar will be able to protect you when a person has your ID and SSC. :2 cents:

Domainsite, dotregistrar, directnic, eNom and some of their resellers, joker, dotster etc. etc.

Basic_man 10-13-2004 01:21 PM

Fuck, your story really suck !

yeah hes kidding godaddy will block a url in 1 sec if they receive a TOS AOL email spoofed or not

direcnic = word

Realwild-Terry 10-13-2004 01:24 PM

Well I got a new ID now with a new issue date etc... so basically anything from that point on he is caught . I just have had so many problems with netsol I want one place I can manage everything . I like their system . register.com is too slow and so are the rest . Just wondering if there is anyone comparable to netsol . And has added security on Domain theft..

pornguy 10-13-2004 01:25 PM

name cheap is pretty good as well.

Tipsy 10-13-2004 01:27 PM

Network solutions has been that bad for a LONG time. I'm amazed anyone still uses them for anything. Many years ago I had my solicitor sending letters simply to get a domain moved. There must me more horror stories about them than just about any other web based company (maybe the exception being PayPal).

Of course the ironic thing is the amount of people finding that when a domain shouldn't be moved it seems to happen as in your case.

Nah they suck, seems that I have to file an ICANN complaint to get my domain back.

Depends on how many domains you have.eNom is rock solid, you could get a 8$ something sub reseller or reseller account.

Dotster is nice too, but not cheap, Godaddy too insecure and dangerous even if I haven't had problems myself with them yet.

domains.ev1servers.net good and reliable but unusable for more than 10 domains.

Dotregistrar is good too and has a good pricing especially if you have lots of domains.

Too much to list here, just ask if you have questions about any particular registrar.

I have some with directnic and NETSO never had a problem.

the one with NETSO I've from day one, wouldn't use them now for a new one.. I'd use DirectNic

axelcat 10-13-2004 01:53 PM

I really think so 2. that's why I've not moved mine. Don't have that many though, some of these people have 100's if not 1,000's of them... that adds up 2 some real money.

Realwild-Terry 10-13-2004 02:13 PM

I will check into all of em everyone ...

Thanx A Ton ..

I'd disrecommend bulkreg. I used to use them as my primary registrar until a couple years ago, but switched primarily due to security concerns at the time, at least some of which are still unaddressed. Like try and transfer a name out...see the email they send you with a URL to go to? The "RECID" field on it is serially generated, so a scammer can do a transfer for one of their own names to get the rough ID #, then increment or decrement the ID # repeatedly with your domain names (for which they previously spoofed a transfer request) until they can guess the URL to spoof your transfer approval, even though they didn't get the email from bulkreg. They had several weaknesses like that, none of which by itself would lose a name, but when you combine one system breach with one of these preventable weaknesses, you could lose your names.

I also found that contrary to their name, their software wasn't that well geared toward bulk domain management, just a lot of user interface issues that made domain management time-consuming.
