If you are still a student and this isn't full time job for you, you can avoid taxes by using Epassporte or offohre bank accounts.

Not that I am recommending this solution but I know few people who do that.

Gynecologist 10-12-2004 02:00 PM

Yeah, remember to give the Lord 10% of your pre-tax income or you will go to hell.

Big Fish 47 10-12-2004 02:31 PM

Let me get this straight... If this isn't my full-time job and I'm not making over $7K, then I don't have to report anything?

bringer 10-12-2004 02:33 PM

you have to pay taxes no matter what if you're in the us
go see an accountant

That's what I thought. I get my taxes done at H&R Block.

Don't listen to him, even if your income was based solely on being a male prostitute, or a drug dealer you would still be required by law to pay taxes.

And it does not matter if you are a student or not. I have been paying/filing tax returns since I was in the 6th grade.

If you are a dependent and make more than $750 you have to file, you may get any withholding back, but you still have to file.

Quote:

Even if you don't earn this much income, other situations exist to determine whether you must file a tax return. For example, a dependent has to file a return for 2003 if they received more than $750 in unearned income or more than $4,750 in earned income. Other situations include:

You consult a public board (GFY even) for tax related advice?

No, he consulted a group of (should be) entrepreneurs that do this for a living, and should be aware of this topic and able to give advice, if willing.

noob
any advice gathered on gfy is normally the WRONG advice
make a thread asking if you should breath air and you'll have 50 replys of "no, its not important"

polish_aristocrat 10-12-2004 02:52 PM

I just said that there are ways to avoid taxes and if he is a student and doesn't earn much and doesn't buy fancy cars and if he is clever, then noone will notice that he hides some income.

Once again, I do not recommend it, but I tallked to some people who do this part-time and they don't report any income. That's their choice, i am only saying it is possible.

First, who exactly are you calling a noob?

Second, I said SHOULD BE, gfy is the last place I'd look for advice, but he'll figure that out. Some other boards with real webmasters might actually give a valid response.
