The IronPort A60 is a revolutionary MTA platform that delivers your critical mail more than an order of magnitude faster than traditional open-source mail transport agents (MTAs). The system can deliver up to 1 million messages per hour, enabling you to immediately reduce your operational overhead by eliminating racks of general-purpose servers running Sendmail or qmail. IronPort's AsyncOS also supports up to 10,000 simultaneous connections. To you, messages are delivered as soon as it's received, and slow connections do not hold up fast ones.

Reliable Delivery
High volume email delivery, if left uncontrolled, can cause your mail to be blocked by recipient hosts. The IronPort A60 includes a number of intelligent features to encourage responsible interaction with receiving ISPs to ensure message delivery.

IronPort's "slow start" algorithm prevents the A60 from overwhelming receiving gateways by initiating a single connection to a receiving mail gateway and adds connections only if it improves the overall transfer rate.

having an ironport is a step in the whitelist direction though and this box looks cool in my office but is a little too big to be a paperweight.
