Assuming Bush loses, should he get a Presidential Library?

Seriously, what has Bush done to deserve a library? What positives could anyone possibly spin out of his 4 years? Worst terror attack in US history, most lost jobs in 70 years, millions losing health insurance, largest deficit of all time, ignored global warning and outlawed types of stem cell research, tried to amend the constitution to restrict human rights for the first time since slavery, and lied to us to start an illegal war that killed 1000+ Americans... He's the least successful President in US history by far. I think they should just give him a corner in his dad's library, in the back.

If they do build one, I'm going to have to go for a good laugh. What the fuck is it going to talk about?

Sly 10-12-2004 12:29 PM

Least successful US President? Not quite, I think some guy died very shortly after being elected into office.

Besides, what the fuck do you care if he gets a library? I don't and I'm actually American.

They should name the rug people rub their feet on as they walk into a library after him.

As long as it carries all of the Hardy Boys books I'll be cool with it too.

Tom_PMs 10-12-2004 12:56 PM

As soon as you walk in, a big sign will say Childrens Books. You're greeted with row upon row, aisle upon aisle of nothin but "my pet goat".
Oh the horrors of presidential nightmares.

What? You're going to vote for gore??

We'd be in even worse shape today if gore had won.

Also, who the fuck cares. Its not like as soon as he's out of office, this little old balding man walks up to him and hands him the keys to a fucking library.

As far as I know, a library is something the president does on his own. Not something that the federal government gives him or that he is entitled to after he is president.

Although, after doing some research, it turns out the presidential library is a relativly new thing. That allows for the storage of all presidential documents from a given president to be put in one location.

Its not necessairly his favorite books.

What the fuck would Bush do in a Library. He does not know how to speak the English language. You cannot teach an old dog new tricks. The English language is something Bush will never grasp.

My favorite...NUCULER!!!!!

That's a great thing for them to brag about. "George W. Bush, he did more than William Harrison." :1orglaugh

I think a presidential kick in the bollocks may be more appropriate.

Wow, you watch a lot of political ads on TV. Shouldn't believe what you see on the TV.

1. Terrorists planned 9/11 way before Bush was in office.

2. A factor of the technology bubble bursting and the Country being in a recession before Bush took office. Then we were attacked!

3. Of course this has nothing to do with the rising costs of health care from the lawsuits and insurance policies doctors have to deal with and businesses can't afford to pay. Remember trial lawyers support Kerry for a reason and Edwards profession is a Trial lawyer!

4. Every deficit in a recession from now until the end of capitalism will be a new record. Think inflation.

5. Moral issues, each person has is own views. :2 cents:

6. Link? Only think I know of is the anti-gay marriage admendment. Once again this is a moral issue and each person has his or her own opinions. :2 cents:

7. Saddam signed a cease-fire agreement which he consistantly violated. Making him in breach of that agreement. Thus the war might have been based on bad intelligence from multiple nation's intelligence agencies not just our own but was hardly illegal.

P.S. Kerry voted against the '91 Gulf War when a Country was invaded. Kerry voted against the funding of troops currently in Iraq, but consistantly complains that the troops do not have the equipment they require? So which is it....

My :2 cents: milage may vary.

Even Gerald Ford has a presidential library. I think prez libs are largely privately and locally funded, with assistance in gathering materials from the federal government. I don't think much of his presidency, but if Texan donors want to build a library for Bush, I'm fine with that.

Webby 10-12-2004 06:42 PM

Bush and a library are two words that don't blend well..

It's like a feeble attempt to mix oil and water.

Pay for a "real" education for him first, then reconsider :glugglug

Holy lord, this is funny. I can tell you based on your one post that I read more in a week than you do in a year and that I understand these issues in ways you'll never even attempt to realize.

Right, and who was in office when it happened? Research project Bojinka and the millennium bombing plot for examples on how a real administration stops terrorists BEFORE they attack. Bush goes on vacation, ignores all the warnings and look what happens. If Gore would have been in office 9/11 never would have happened, I think that's pretty clear if you read the 9/11 commission report.

He's the first President in 70 years to lose jobs. I've heard the excuses but if you're going to sit there and say that Bush inherited the worst fiscal situation in 70 years you're ignorant.

lol, try to comprehend an issue before commenting please. The world is more complicated than talking points.

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I can't even understand how you could lack any understanding of the reality of economics and yet try to talk about the subject with adults. You think that American can continue to run up invent debt until the end of time? Wow.

That's the one, and as I said it is the first time a President has attempted to amend the constitution to restrict human rights. Not supporting gay marriage may be a moral issue but amending the constitution to force the views of a minority on everyone is the opposite of what the USA was built on.

Kofi Annan declared that the invasion was illegal. Stop listening to Rush Limbaugh, it's obvious. I've heard more excuses than you can repeat, don't worry.

Do you understand politics at all? That 87 billion dollar bill was mostly for reconstruction costs, with a little amount tied in for funding troops. Kerry voted against it because he wanted congress to pay for it, not borrow it. Really all this isn't hard to follow if you just try. Seriously where do you get your information? It's called reading bro, give it a try.

God I hate people who have been paying attention to the world for 10 minutes and consider themselves experts. Not one part of your post had any hint of reality.

Ok I really butchered this paragraph, give me a break, it's 3:00am.

I meant something like "you think that America can continue to run up infinite debt until the end of time".
