Ok explain this to me

I guess it started a couple of years ago but all the tv's, dvd players, stereo equipment started going from black to silver as the normal color. About the same time all the computers started changing from white to black but the laptops went from black to silver.

WTF I know it ain't NASA but who thinks this shit up. What does buddy that works at Sony wake up one morning, goes into the office and says ... BOSS I got a great idea.... lets make the standard color different....

Was just thinking about this while getting coffee this morning....

:)

I guess we're going to have silver as the standard pc color in the near future... :glugglug

I was always wondering about that, I personally like black TV's. why they dont make them pink?

Goatse 10-12-2004 04:13 PM

That's an interesting observation. I remember being pissed when I bought my last TV because they didn't have it in black. A silver TV just doesn't look right... :(

It's all about the money. They switch the colors every few years to make you feel that your electronics are "old" and "out of style" and to get you thinking that you should replace your perfectly good stuff for new "hip" stuff. Having silver TV's is stupid of course because a black surround gives the picture an apparent higher contrast but these days it's not what works best but what is in style. Even worse all the new panasonic VCR's, DVD players and recorders have mirrored faceplates this year. Can you think of anything more distracting that mirrored surfaces flashing at you everytime you shift your head while you're trying to watch TV? What are these people thinking?

No kidding.... I like certain brands but if they don't offer tv's, dvd's, stereo equipment in black I'll go with a brand that will.... I can't stand the silver...

For computers and laptops I don't really care..... I have a black Dell desktop and a silver Dell laptop......
